Emma's Humbugs Coffee & Crafts — Restaurant in Dudley

We ordered tea and a toasted sandwich for two of us. We waited and waited. A woman with a young person, possibly her son, sat on a nearby table. There was a written note for customers saying their meal was freshly prepared and they weren’t a fast food outfit. All that’s fine, no problem. However, there was one member of staff who was involved in ceramic painting, another serving customers and one other it seems who was actually preparing food, it clearly wasn’t adequate. The woman nearby was served her meal, and the lad with her was still waiting for his. The woman made some gestures of exasperation to us as we shared our frustration. We asked the person at the counter if our meal was nearly ready. He said they had had several orders. A while later we asked again and said our parking was running out. We eventually walked out of the building in frustration. I’m not commenting on the food as we didn’t have any, the service clearly needs much tightening up on. Came here with my two young girls this afternoon (4 and 7yo). They had a great time and I think they’d still be there now if they could! What a wonderful warm welcome! The food was good and reasonably priced and there’s a large selection of drinks- hot and cold. I can recommend the summer fruits smoothie- delicious! The crafts were great- there’s even a big section of free crafting activities and resources that my girls got stuck into straight away! There’s also an area of £5 crafts- design your own kite/ mask/ tiara/ bag, etc. and of course the pottery painting. My children chose to paint a piece of pottery each. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble, they were attentive and made my girls feel v special! They went above and beyond. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning! Would give 10 stars if you could. It's a brilliant place . Staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. Drinks not just coffee are lovely. Food is really tasty and good value. Cakes are lovely they seem to specialise in tray bakes. They have such a good selection you will find it hard to choose!! It's had a new owner since I wrote the above but all of the above still applies. Tried Pottery painting here recently and it's really good fun 😊Lots of other interesting looking crafts too.
