My husband and I went last night we moved here about 8 months ago and we were saving our visit here for a special occasion. We had a *small* glass of wine each and some olives for the table and our bill came to £17.10. That is robbery, an individual small glass of wine costs more than a bottle of wine from the coop. The lady was also quite rude, she saw we were in the restaurant for a good few minutes before she said hello to us. When we were asking questions about the olives she was short and abrupt. The impact your character has when you’re a customer facing business is so important, and whilst the place looks wonderful and the food menu looks good, I unfortunately won’t go back because of the rudeness and insane prices. I know we are all feeling the consequences of the rising costs of living, but you can’t support your local restaurant on those prices. We were very disappointed!

If I could give the restaurant 6 stars I would. The host took the order and cooked the food, the flavors and presentation were both amazing. This little gem is one in a million and is a special place to enjoy properly cooked Italian food. Top tip, please pre book as there is very limited seating and dont be in any hurry, this venue is about enjoying the ambiance, its not somewhere you run in and out off, allow 1.5 hours to truly embrace this eatery.

Not sure you know, but La Strega also makes delicious cakes like the one for my daughter’s birthday!Letizia listens to your wishes and then comes up with something better than you could imagine like a cake made out of pan di stele, chocolate sauce, fresh whipped cream, rasberry and chocolate pieces! Thank you for the cake!I can not describe how tasty it was!

Edited to 1 star from 2 star: Received an abusive message from The Restaurant regarding my review when it was nothing but factual. Restaurants should be open to feedback as well as wanting to hear how they can improve.

Visited as a couple at around 1730 on Saturday and had a very odd experience from start to finish. We inadvertently visited the restaurant on an 'Apperitivo Night'.

There was no advertisement outside, on the tables or spoken word from the staff before we sat down about how the night worked until we finally asked to see a menu and it was then explained.

They essentially turn the restaurant into a cold buffet and offer a drink as part of the deal. With the buffet essentially just being what bar space they have with no capacity to keep any of it warm. Dishes included were olives, cheese, poorly made pasta and various breads with no site of any protein or meat in any of the dishes. The food was extremely disappointing with the exception of the arancini.

My partner ordered an Aperol Spritz and it was made without Soda or prosecco, essentially just pure Aperol and ice. With us having close proximity to the bar and kitchen, we also heard the staff argue with eachother.

Overall it was a very confusing visit to La Strega, we both would have preferred if they had kept their normal menu and service as other reviews of this place seem brilliant and all mention how good...

La Strega is hands down our favourite restaurant! We're from Cambridge originally so had quite a lot of choice and have been to some fancy places, but we always choose to come here for our special date night or bringing friends and family. The food is AMAZING, real real Italian food a far cry from any chain and even other independent places. The restaurant has a really cosy homey atmosphere and the staff are absolutely lovely without being overbearing. Be prepared for dinner as a real whole evening event and go slow! We love it so much we had our mini wedding reception dinner here and the team really went above and beyond to make our evening magical and just so special, including making our beautiful beautiful cake. It's vegetarian but it feels like it was by accident, there is no compromise on the menu - they do the traditional thing of making amazing dishes with simple but high quality components. Huge thanks to these guys for so many beautiful evenings,...
