Having just come back to East Devon and living only 300m away I pop up for a coffee, and a chat either with friends, the hosts (all very polite, friendly, efficient and lovely - that's especially Lou and Amy!) or new acquaintances. Coffee is excellent, and gives a good buzz from the caffeine, especially if you order a very reasonably priced large. Decaffeinated is available if you require. The cafe used to share with a bike shop, but now the bikes are no longer there I don't get to watch tedious (according to my wife!) cycling videos, but the extra tables have increased the atmosphere. I sit facing the door and people watch, without looking weird or intrusive, if that's possible😂. I must mention the toilets: impeccably clean, and authentic! Loved them. Perhaps Edwardian, and they speak of quality British engineering, of a time long gone. The cafe has some parking out the front, but also to the side as part of the antique petrol pumps, which adds to the beauty of the cafe. The decor is typically well done, and although biased as I know some of the girls here, it's a lovely place to come to, and while away an hour or so. Food looks excellent but I've not eaten here yet. Thanks Amy, and team, will see...

We absolutely loved our lunch here today!

We were able to park directly outside, dogs were welcome (and even given a little treat of doggy biscuits and cheese) there was comfortable seating, food was amazing and the service was super friendly.

As we were visiting the area for the weekend we were craving some good seafood and the crab sandwiches and seafood platter did not disappoint. Portions were generous and we found it to be excellent value for money. The cakes were also scrumptious so make sure you leave a little room for dessert.

We would definitely recommend you pay a visit to this lovely little cafe and support a local small business - its an absolute gem! Thank you to all of the team for making us...

Such a special place with a lovely atmosphere, friendly, efficient service, and great home- cooked food: Brilliant choice of homemade cakes / pastries, soups, nice variety of light lunches. Very nicely decorated and very interesting pictures, photos etc. Choice of types of seating including comfy sofas. Can sit outside this time of year. Unique filling station environment, with old style petrol pumps outside (no longer used) and motoring memorabilia.

Open for morning coffees and lunchtimes, closes mid-afternoon so don't miss out!

Can't recommend it...

We arrived with lots of tired hungry children. They couldn’t have been more accommodating with our group. A lovely lady even opened the drinks can for one of us that had a sleeping child on our lap 🥹. Aside from the wonderful accommodation for our grisly children. Their coronation chicken was delicious and their coffee was strong and tasty. Wish we could have tried one of their milkshakes but our small time bombs (children) were about to explode…. Hoping to return before our weeks Devon holiday is up. If not see you next year!

Amazing little cafe. Very comfortable environment, lots of different seating to choose from. The staff are happy people and keen to make your experience enjoyable. The coffee is really good especially the decaf. The food they serve is all locally produced and has a home made taste to it. Few spaces for parking outside and up the road. Used to be an old petrol station. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
