A lovely thatched village pub just off the A35 main road west of Axminster. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The food was very good and excellent value. There was a good selection of drinks on offer and three beers on tap from the local Palmers Brewery. These were well kept. The clientele seemed to be mostly local and the pub had a pleasant buzz of an atmosphere. The background music was not intrusive. Dog friendly. The pub has a car park . This is not large but there was plenty of on street parking nearby. The premises appeared to be wheelchair accessible. A great find and definitely a pub to which we shall be returning.

Could not be more accommodating, friendly and helpful. Food v decent pub grub at reasonable prices. Clean, spacious loos, good beers and range of gins etc and the house red was excellent. Off the beaten track but not by far, it's got a car park, nice Gardens and fast service. A proper nice pub experience.

This pub was a disappointment. Its easy to criticise and normally i prefer not to do so.

The initial greeting was mediocre and dismissive.

If heard this place was worth a visit but I have to say despite the lovely staff who waited on me, I wouldn't return.

Prices are very acceptable but portions are very small. I felt that by charging a bit more and giving a decent portion one wouldn't go away as hungry as I did!

Unfortunately the table I sat at in the garden had a very strong and unpleasant aroma of cat pee! It was the only table in the sun and as my meal arrived quite quickly, it was difficult to move.

The wine was equally odd. Certainly the spiciest Merlot I've ever had..so much so I doubt that was what it was!

Given all this it gets 3 stars instead of 2 due to the staff.

I'm genuinely sorry to write such a review but I feel it's an honest assessment of my...

Spent a very enjoyable Sunday lunchtime at this little gem of a village pub. It is clearly a favourite with the locals, as the bar area was full of lively chatter when we visited on a Sunday. We had booked for lunch and I’m glad we did as most tables were reserved. The menu is restricted to their roast selection on a Sunday, but if that’s what your looking for, look no further. Three sizes of the roast are available; I had the medium roast beef (roast lamb or a mix of both available) and it was more than ample for my appetite. We did, however, share a starter and dessert as well, which we thoroughly enjoyed; taking that into account, we didn’t feel the need for more. The dessert (a Key Lime pie) was superb. Very pleasant and efficient service and not long to wait, despite how busy they were. We will certainly return for their Sunday lunch...

A baptism by fire to take over a pub, one week into Covid lockdown, but Stephen has been proving he has what it takes. Providing local food delivery during lockdown has already established the pub as a gourmet venue, even before re-opening and wow! the food is good.

With a very friendly service, Stephen loves to hear your feedback and takes onboard good suggestions. The food is terrific and the beer is beautifully kept. Within the beautiful village of Kilmington (turn left just after the war memorial), the pub is the epitome of the village local that we have come to adore... do yourself a favour, turn off the A35 and have some time in a tasteful and tasty...
