Disappointing. Came for dinner with my partner last. Hadn't been here befor and wanted to try it out after a long beach walk. We where able to get the last available table for dinner. It seemed high standard and buy the prices of the menu I thought we where in for a real treat. My partner orded the fish pie. It was a small and plain fish pie. Just two types of fish and not much flavour. There were no vegetables with or in the pie. For £14 I would of expected more. I orded a Moroccan lamb tagine. It was very bland, boring and really didnt taste like a tagine. More of a spaghetti bolognese taste. The lamb was tasty but no taste of Morocco the cous cous was extremely tasteless. Just of rasinins. Felt no effort had gone into what suppost to be a rice tasty long cooked flavousome meal. At £15 I expected high quality. Both these dishes where lacking alot of taste. We where given complimentary amuse-bouche (mushroom, truffle soup) and beetroot and linseed freshly baked bread. That tasted amazing and felt so excited after that for the main. Wasnt happy with the radio playing with rock music. This wasnt relaxing or fitting in with the "fine dining". After the disappointment we decided not to look at the...
Read moreSuch an attractive building. Sanitiser available and name check on entry but a very careless attitude towards clean tables and a smile would have made us feel more welcome. We have become used to being shown to a table that has been sanitised. "Sit where you like in the next room." Some tables were free but others contained dirty glasses and crockery and when we left people who had clearly been given the same instruction sat down at our dirty table. Not covid compliant. The menu was very disappointing. Although we didn't expect cordon bleu there is a more imaginative midpoint between this and the carbohydrate heavy meals offered. Very generous portions of chips, sandwiches with thick bread etc. Very filling if you have been physically working and like a predominantly fried diet, but did not...
Read moreAn absolute pleasure to find ourselves here for lunch. A charming and picturesque inn, with thatch roof and an old English charm to it, we were very happy and full by the end of our meal. Everything was beautiful, especially the locally sourced beef and we couldn't help but have dessert to finish. A lovely couple who were polite and fast with service. Parking was easy and cost very reasonable considering where we were. I honestly would highly recommend for couples or families. They had toys to keep my youngest busy whilst we waited and by the end she didn't want to go home. I just wished I'd have taken a photo because the property is honestly stunning. With the cottage feel and the low beams and thatching, it really does look like something out of a fairytale. Very...
