Loaf Bakery, Four Marks — Restaurant in East Hampshire

I remember back when this place used to be a good bakery. I’ve just been in on a Saturday at 12:30. Huge sign advertising their fresh to made order sandwiches on top of a fridge full of pre made rolls. The young lady asked what she could get started for me and I said a chicken mayonnaise sandwich on white bread with no butter. She immediately starts looking in the fridge and I said “oh - do you not do fresh made to order sandwiches anymore?” She replied with “oh yes we do but I’m trying to see what I can get rid of first”. She consulates with another lady who seems to be running the shop; she says that they try not to do the made to order on Saturdays (take your sign down then) and then asks i’d be happy to accept the pre made chicken and bacon mayo roll in the fridge, I said yes as long as it didn’t have butter due to my dairy intolerance. Unfortunately it did have butter so instead she just reeled off all the other rolls in the fridge which I could’ve obviously ordered myself. Probably worth taking your advertising down for fresh made to order sandwiches if you’re not going to make them. All a bit lazy really. Shame as this used to be an excellent place to go with top food...

Absolute wow factor here. I must admit I winced slightly at hearing the price of 2 sausage cobs (rolls,baps,batches,breakcakes,etc,etc) 2 doughnuts and 2 hot drinks but that was completely unfounded. Cobs beautifully made and crammed with super tasty sausages, clearly high quality and well sourced. Epic doughnuts, not great if you're a calorie counter but if you want a taste sensation, absolutely mega! Staff were brilliant, helpful and super friendly :) Don't know when I'll be back in the area as not local sadly but will definitely be dropping in again! 5 stars,...

We were out walking my daughter's dog today and called into Loaf for takeout coffees. We were tempted by the good selection of cakes too. As well as cheese twists we also bought an Apple Donut which my partner loved, and I had a slice of lightly spiced Fruit Loaf. It was delicious! The best fruit loaf I've ever tasted. No idea if it's a regular cake on offer here but if not it should be! The staff were friendly too and there was even a treat for the dog. I wish we had a bakery like this...
