Taste of Raj — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

Fantastic curry house, run and staffed by some of the friendliest people you could ask for. It is no wonder people drive miles to eat there, nor why they keep so many regulars, I have been going there since they first opened in 1983 and have never had cause to complain.

You can choose from a very wide range of curries, all freshly cooked and adapted to your own specification if you ask. They offer eat in and take-away, and whilst the restaurant is small, they don't rush you and instead offer a great place to meet and eat.

I have tried many indian food places around the country, but have yet to find one that I think is better.

I mentioned in there yesterday that I felt disloyal going anywhere else now, and was told that a lot of customers say the same thing. I think that says a lot for the place.

I would recommend Taste of Raj to anyone without hesitation, but don't take my word for it,...

I was visiting family so my first experience of this particular Indian restaurant. I ordered chicken tikka masala. If your eyes were closed you would not know it was a curry. There was a slight smokiness from the chicken (I assume from how it was cooked before adding to the sauce) and a slight taste of tomato and fish from the sauce (this does not bode well if you were allergic to fish). No coconut and no taste of spices or seasoning, no other taste or flavour at all, absolutely nothing. There would be more taste in a can of tomato soup. At nearly £9 for the dish it was disgusting and disappointing. I would not recommend this restaurant if your looking for an authentic curry, you'd be better off buying one from the supermarket, it will taste better...

Ordered a new through JustEat at 18:45 with a 19:30 delivery. 8pm and still a no show. Phoned restaurant to be told order hadn’t even been cooked. Will not be ordering again. Always an issue with this restaurant. Food was sub standard which is unusual. Potato was uncooked so hard and nothing was warm. Only 4 chunks of meat in my lamb bhuna, not enough compared to numerous other restaurants. Rubbish at running the restaurant delivery/takeaway. A ‘Sorry’ just...
