This was my review on trip advisor Myself and my family recently visited after going on previous occasion and it being great. Unfortunately this time the veg was dry and rubbery (well what was there!) the choice of veg was very limited. The mashed potato was grey and lump, the meat was great though. When we complained about the veg the chef said he would bring us some fresh and walked off into the kitchen muttering under his breath. Then after nearly 10 minutes had passed he still didn't return so we had grey wet cabbage and cauliflower in watery cheese sauce. All of which were over cooked and soggy. We ate what we could and it was edible ( I liken it to an old fashioned school dinner) although my roast potato was raw as were my parsnips and I could have put a window through with my Yorkshire pudding.so we thought we would give desert a try. Why I'm not sure, possibly to give them chance to rectify the problems with the main course. Mistake! I order a raspberry pavlova. The description said something along the lines of, meringue with raspberries and fresh cream. What I got was a meringue with a lump of raspberry ripple Ice cream in the middle with a meringue on top, covered in raspberry sauce that u put on ice cream. I sent it back as it was not what it said on the menu. After our bad experience we asked to speak to the manager. We were told he was getting dressed (3pm on a Sunday) and proceeded to wait 15-20 for him to arrive. The manager didn't arrive instead we were greeted by his son. Complaints were made, the he proceeded to insult two people on the table (both who are qualified chefs and have both run pubs/restaurants). What came next completely disgusted me. The chef came out of the kitchen and began to hurl abuse over the pub at one of the people at my party and it continued until we left. The chef was exceedingly scruffy and foul mouthed and I can certainly say that I will never visit this establishment again while the present staff are in charge. I have been using this pub for 16years and it's such a shame to see if fall to pieces like this. Never in my life have I been spoken to like this. DO NOT VISIT!!! The young lad behind the bar and the lad carving the meat were however...

Read moreJust back from a couple of nights at The Bay Horse holiday cottages. The cottage was immaculate- small but perfect for two of us and our dog. The bed was so comfortable, the huge smart tv was great, our dog appreciated the small enclosed garden for a wander round and we both enjoyed the breakfast goodies and milk- a lovely touch. Nice welcome and goodbye from the owner. Would definitely recommend and we will be...
