We decided to try Francs after hearing good things, but never again! Almost none of the food was presented as advertised- vegan burger stated soya patty on the menu, but was instead 2 tiny vegan 'chicken' nuggets, the katsu burger said the same but came out with a 'beef' burger. Salt n pepper fries were just some super greasy fries with half a tub of Chinese 5 spice dumped on the top, chipotle coleslaw had never seen a bit of seasoning in its life, let along chipotle. Mayonnaise seems to be the 'chefs' (I use that term loosely) favourite condiment as the vegan burger had it literally inch thick and pouring out the sides, and the coleslaw was just half a tub of mayo with a few veg in it. Flavourless doesn't even come close. The only part of the vegan burger that had any taste was the gherkins I'd asked to be added to it. And my fiance said the katsu burger had absolutely zero taste of katsu whatsoever. The air was thick with chip pan smoke. It hurt your eyes and after we left we STUNK of fryers and all our clothes needed washing. The car still has a lingering odour of it. We glimpsed the kitchen through the doorway when at the till. The bin was overflowing, food had been walked into the floor all over and piles of dirty dishes were stacked up. I get it's not always easy to keep on top of dishes in a busy kitchen, but these covered the sides (the ones we could see). I can't see how that's hygienic. The only decent bit of mine was the Britvic orange juice I ordered. Prices were astronomical too. Way way too overpriced for what's served up. I have no problem paying good money for good food, but this was barely food, let alone good. The only saving grace was our server was very kind...

Decided to visit after seeing several times on social media and a friend recommending. Have to say we were very pleased, nice friendly atmosphere, and helpful staff. We booked a table before going just incase and when we arrived we were offered a drink and shown to our table. The menu had lots of choice and we made our selection. I had the Beef, Bacon, Duck Burger with Piri Piri Fries and my wife had Buffalo Chicken Wings with Regular Fries and Chipotle Coleslaw. Both dishes were excellent, cooked freshly and presented nicely. I really enjoyed my burger, the hosin sauce was a great addition and I LOVED the fries. My wife wings were tender and juicy and the Buffalo sauce was nice and spicy. The staff were attentive and service was great. Francs also offers takeaway service and during our meal there was a good steady flow of pick ups which shows they have a good following and run an efficient kitchen. All in all we really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be returning soon as there was lots we wanted to try...

We got a takeaway from Francs the other night, a great new addition to Horncastle. I had the blue and bacon burger I really liked it, nice juicy burgers, just right crispy bacon and it was nice to have real blue cheese in a burger rather than some flavoured sauce. Also we shared the buffalo chicken strips, these were amazing, we'll try the buffalo wings next. The kids had the little Francs cheese burger and nuggets, both meals were just the right size for our two little ones. The better half had the BBQ chicken stack, there was not much talking going on so I think everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely be going back for takeaway again and will eat in at some point, I will update the review once we try the breakfast brunch menu. Well done Francs, keep up...

Hands down the best meal we had this week. Sadly that isn't saying much, but in reality this place is a hidden gem. The food is amazing, really tasty and well seasoned, good portions, we had a bit of everything and it was all great. The only suggestion is that the truffle fries portion was a little small, but in all the food and drinks were great. The cookie dough balls are also really good. I recommend the duck burger, see pic, very tasty indeed. Would go back in a heartbeat if we lived closer

We absolutely love this place. The only little things are that it could do with a little revamp and a really good clean. The toilets are ok but the bin has been overflowing more than once, the decor is quirky and fun. However, the floor needs a really good clean as it's slippery and it's stifling in there at times with lots of flies. Having said that, the staff are wonderful...so accommodating and friendly and the food is absolutely to die for. Go. Go now!!!
