we visited last Tuesday on the stroke of midday and was welcomed in by Wendy, who is the best host and landlady anyone could hope for. we found out it was a family run pub, with various members doing various roles - and by the time we left we felt like honorary members of the family. 😁. Wendy was so welcoming and kind (along with her young staff member, on the day) that I'm still smiling now, thinking of our visit.

the menu is varied, something for everyone and it's not just the usual good country pub grub, there's unique and inventive things on there, such as Mushrooms in a creamy stilton sauce (5 stars, delicious) and a massive Yorkshire pudding with various filling options (5 stars, we had Lincolnshire sausages).

we live four hours away but if I was ever in the area again this is the first and only place I'd choose for lunch. fantastic, thanks again for having us and hosting us so nicely. it...

My friend and I visited The Fleece for the first time and it definitely won't be the last. The staff are friendly and the food was amazing. We had the steak pie, there was so much meat, it was unbelievable, the vegetables were cooked just right and the food was hot, which is rare to find in places. Thankyou for a great meal, we'll be back!!!

Update - returned to The Fleece and must say wasn't as impressed. Had the same meal again but my friend couldn't eat his pastry as it was rock hard, he got the corner and it had obviously been reheated to within an inch of its life! Also tried out a Sunday lunch and the roast potatoes were so hard you could barely cut them, the carrots were practically whole and the gravy was tasteless. Had better Sunday lunches elsewhere at a more reasonable price. Sorry to say out of the 3 meals we've had there only the first was good, for the price they charge I would...

Was very excited to eat in here after so many of the locals had recommended the fleece for their food. Sadly was unable to even try it. Came in with my son who has ASD and asked if we could sit in the other section so as make things easier for both him and other guests since he can be quite loud. Was told no they have to keep all the children in the front as they're too "messy". Very disappointed, not willing to accommodate even after explaining the circumstances. Never known anywhere like it to discriminate against children (not sure if it had anything to do with mine being disabled, but the other rooms all had lights on, should of been no reason why we were refused.) Again very disappointed, wouldn't recommend to anyone with children or children with SEND or those that may have...

What a great find! Set just a 12min drive from Skegness away from the greasy spoons and chippy's, this place is lovely home cooked wholesome food. Every trip to the coast I ask the family if we can go here. I love their steak and stilton pie (not a bit of fat in sight and served with mash and veg). Others had the steak (cooked to perfection), curry of the day (best pub curry they've ever tasted) and chicken in a stilton creamy sauce with home made chips - just so tasty. Very friendly and welcoming staff too that are always up for a bit of banter. Put this pub on your "to go" list, it's a must but do book in advance

Stumbled upon this pub after checking other Google reviews. On entering staff were very attentive and seated us at our table. Waiting times were all spot on and the food was lovely and portion size was more then fair. Prices were set correctly and places like this are hard to come by. Only reason I deducted a star was because my daughter's chicken was still very pink in the centre and if I hadn't of been keen to try it would have gone unnoticed and could have upset her, however the staff apologised and delt with it promptly and did her a complete new meal. Still overall we were very happy

The Fleece Inn is by far one of my favourite pubs to visit. The staff are incredibly helpful, chatty and hardworking. The pub looks and feels well cared for while while keeping the traditional pub look. The drink choice is good and the food is fantastic! I’d definitely recommend the Sunday dinners. The garden is beautiful, spacious and welcoming. Another bonus is that they’re very dog friendly.
