We went to Bombay Nite as a couple for a spontaneous date night and for my partner to try Indian cuisine for the first time.. ordered one large coke each with 4 poppadoms to start. The cokes were slightly warm, but the poppadoms were fine….. we ordered our meal of a chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, egg fried pilau rice, plain pilau rice, saag aloo, Bombay aloo, onion bhajis and a plain naan. The korma was okay, tikka masala was okay, but over cooked chicken, egg fried pilau rice tasted like a microwave pouch not fresh, although the plain pilau was okay. Saag aloo was simply tasteless, bar the salty potatoes, Bombay aloo had the same salty potatoes but the Bombay was also way too salty, we had to order additional glass of coke because of the over saltiness, which took forever to get to our table, Onion bhajis were very nice! Plain naan was okay, but I’ve definitely had better… We were given a complimentary desert which was nice, however we both felt it was overpoweringly creamy.
The service started okay, but very early into our meal the staff started having full blown, really loud conversations with some of the other customers, appeared to be friends, but continued their loud conversation right next to our table where we were trying to enjoy our meal and have a nice date night together… having this loud conversation next to where we were eating was incredibly off putting.
Also no table cloths and started hoovering whilst customers were still dining…
This being said they did take off the saag and...
Read moreUsed to be our go to restaurant for curry in Felixstowe. Shapi used to welcome you in, had a great set of staff who would chat to you and make you feel welcome. One even helped me find a curry we had when I was little. When it closed we really missed it and waited for it to open again. We just ordered for collection the first curry we’ve had since it reopened and were buzzing to try it again. We’ve got it home and wow. What a disappointment compared to how it was before. Poppadoms were all burnt (inedible - tastes like burning plastic and were dark brown) naan was thin and burnt. Coconut rice didn’t taste anything like coconut only sultanas which are now rife in it. Paneer was chunky and cold. Chicken was dry and the Rogan just tasted sweet and with no depth. Not that people expect it but they also stopped the little slice of vienetta. Just so so disappointing considering it was the best Indian going. I’ve rated the food one just out of massive disappointment plus. When I rang up the owner didn’t seem to even care. She just said she’s check who did it, said there was a new chef and seemed totally unbothered… and half offered free poppadoms next time. Doesn’t take the bitter taste out of your mouth. Especially as I highly doubt they’ll be a next time now. If any of the old staff are there, I’d rate them a 5 stars, but the new female owner and the new food....

Phoned ahead to say “ we understand that you’re closing soon , is it still okay to eat in the restaurant , a table for two please“ We were told yes. We arrived promptly and were just seated , to then be told to “hurry up“ We proceeded (quickly)to order at least £30.00 worth of starters , (as neither of us can eat big mains ) After taking the order, the waiter then told us “no you can’t have any starters without ordering mains as well“ Sat feeling really awkward , I stated “I’m confused as to why it’d be a problem as the starters would have cost more than some of the mains advertised ?“ We were just stared at…As if that wasn’t beyond rude , and unprofessional, upon leaving we were then met with laughter from the staff. I really don’t understand why you even agreed to serve us in the first place?
A real shame, as my family , 8 of us in total , were looking to dine here next month.
I’d advise against anyone bothering to pay a visit to this place . Especially when there are far more accommodating and POLITE restaurants in and around...
