Pinneys of Orford — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Called here to this shop to buy fresh local Oysters, and chilled smoked trout,smoked sardines, smoked prawns, taramasalata and frozen whitebait ( delightfully without any batter- a rare thing). All delicious. They had everything I wanted . Just rang the bell on the counter for attention, was then served immediately. I think much of their business in November would be via their online route, as will have a wide national appeal. We were visiting family a few miles away,so it was great to call in and buy and choose in person. I asked if they had an adjoining café - he explained that they have a restaurant on the Market Square, this is not called Pinney's it has another name which escapes me, but couldn't mistake same brand & oyster restaurant refs- 5 mins walk away- walked back up there and people were having lunch- all smelt wonderful. Great place to buy freshly-landed fish

Good selection of fresh fish, plus some frozen and also a range of smoked fish. Also sell other food items: Suffolk ice cream, cheese (and smoked cheese), bacon, chorizo, potted shrimps...

The food highlight of my week in Suffolk. I walked past the creek where the oysters are grown and the smokehouse nearby and came back to the shop next day. Oysters: the best I’ve ever tasted.
