This is hands down the best cafe in East Suffolk. Rhubarb and Rose is the welcome antithesis to the rash of rather soulless black dog deli and two or three or whatever magpies and any other âLondonâ centric cafes that have crept into the area over recent years to cater to second home owners who seek the same urban trappings but in a rural setting (ie fake) and presumably locals yearning for relief (understandable) from a lacklustre pasty and lukewarm filter coffee at the time warp bakers. Unlike the dog and magpie type fairly burbling with their gentle current of superiority and over confidence and where everyone must wear black, as if in perpetual mourning for a lost authenticity, Rhubarb is colour, life, honesty, homeliness. A welcoming interior greets one and an unfussy natural atmosphere without pretensions. Rubarbâs owners are lovely genuine people, they serve excellent fairly priced food to happy customers.
