White Hart — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Sunday dinner, nut roast. Quality quite nice, Portions terrible. One slice of Carrot, One slice of parsnip One piece of cauliflower, two small pieces of broccoli, Tiny dollop of swede and potato mash Nut roast/roast potatoes/Yorkshire puddings good portions. Mentioned it to the young bloke that served me and he laughed and walked away Really ???? So, I returned 5 months later, after being reassured by the Landlady that the portions and other issues had been addressed. Unfortunately the cauliflower wasn't cooked properly, could hardly get my knife through it, and there were less veg than last time 🙄. After complaining and returning food I was told that I'm now barred from the pub. Their reason being "we obviously cannot get anything right for you". We went here for my wife's birthday while we were on holiday in the area. The staff were very friendly and polite so that was excellent. The food was decent but not great. It was average pub food standard. I had the soup (parsnip) to start which was nice and tasted homemade. For main I had the pie (chicken and mushroom) with seasonal vegetables. The pie was very dry and the vegetables were a little tasteless. Also the gravy was beef which seemed odd with a chicken pie? For dessert, I had the sticky toffee pudding which took a while to arrive (but to be fair it was getting busy at this point) it tasted lovely but you could tell it had been sat for a while. To go with the meal I had a pint of Ghost Ship which was excellent and you could tell it was well kept. We cannot fault this gastropub. Vicky and Dean are both very courteous, friendly and keen to ensure your drinks and meals are fully enjoyed. All staff are also equally keen and enthusiastic. The Ghost Ship is always perfect as is the food, with a great varied menu which is frequently updated. All meals we have ordered have always been perfectly cooked and thoroughly enjoyed. A pub my family and I regularly frequent due to its high standards of its food, varied menu, quality of service, friendliness, politeness and cleanliness.
