I've been coming to the quay on and off for over twenty years and I always enjoy walking around some of Beccles' common ground adjoining before exploring the quayside. I like looking at the variety of moored boats. It's especially interesting during the summer season when the broadland holiday makers are about. The place has hardly changed over time and that's what adds to its charm. There's a charming little ice cream and beverage shop at the entrance to the town side of the quay. Read moreWe had such a lovely afternoon at the Quay, we took a picnic and then went to the little shop for an ice cream. There are benches dotted along the river edge and just over the bridge there are picnic tables next to a lovely little park. The shop usually closes around 6pm but they do stay open if it’s busy, the shop has some tables & chairs both inside and outside for customers to sit at.
