It looks like seamoors has had a facelift? New owner? Seamoors, the cocktail bar n cat door and 4seasons cafe is now owned by the same person. Is this to stop competition you may ask or is this to improve the quality of what was their previously. Even though they have painted the walls, reduced the bar size and changed the seating, the character has gone. It still has the wooded cubes at the top of the surrounding wall, full of stuff/junk/nick nacks that makes no sense? There is still a small food menu, but this is produced by 4seasons. We went in there for the first time since it facelift, it was Friday night and there was a small crowd at the small bar. We sat on the new bench seating, comfy enough, but we ask why they bothered shrinking the bar as there is a void where it was, no useful space, no real are to sit at the bar anymore. The staff, one young female bar maid, was quite frankly, shocking!! She seemed to be drinking more than she was selling and also was being topped up by cocktails from the bar next door through the adjoining bar. If the owner is happy with this then fine, but her voice was getting louder and louder as she socialised with the small young crowd at the bar and her language was blue, not what you’d expect from staff. At times she was quite rude when speaking to the local old boy who is a regular and sat at the bar. It was obvious that not all drinks from the young crowd were being paid for. If I as the owner I would check your cctv and her behaviour. Would we return on an evening...
Read moreI went there for a pint tonight. The back area was packed with middie aged locals which made me smile. The barmaid was lovely. I sat outside at about 6pm, couple of workmen sitting on individual tables on the phone talking like they are stockbrokers with lots of profanities thrown in for good measure but that me me laugh to myself and it was entertaining as was a quiet time.
I like it, prefer it to the dump that is the Garden Bar. Not sure if want to be hanging around at kicking out time but I wouldn't be so...
Read moreI’ve recently moved into the area and Seamoors has become my local. The beer and food is excellent and good value. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. From the outside it doesn’t look too inviting. It appears dark and seedy. However, once inside you discover it’s a warm place to visit. The only thing I would suggest to make it better works be better lightening. But then if it gets too popular it may loose...
