Popped into the Bricklayers Arms in Hersham for a Sunday roast and honestly, it didn’t disappoint. One of the best roasts I’ve had in ages. The beef was tender, the roasties were spot on—crispy on the outside, fluffy inside—and the Yorkshire pudding was massive (and actually tasted homemade, which makes a nice change). Plenty of gravy too, none of this stingy drizzle you get in some places.
What really made it though was the service. The staff were friendly, quick, and made you feel properly looked after without being over the top. It’s a lovely pub, warm atmosphere, and you can tell they take pride in what they’re doing.
All in all, just a cracking place for a proper Sunday lunch. Will definitely be back—might even bring the in-laws next time to...

We came for lunch and everything was delightful; from the host to the food, the condition of the ale and the fact that whomever it is that is hell bent on turning every pub in Surrey into some kind of sterile facsimile of a hotel bar has not had a go at this one.
I don't live in Hersham but it's now on the list of places to revisit on every home visit alongside The Withies Inn, The Masons Arms, The Park Tavern, The Roebuck (Hampton) The Eagle Ale House and...
