Above the Bay Restaurant, Bar, Wedding and Events — Restaurant in England

We booked Above The Bay 1 month before our big day due to a venue change, and I must say, they absolutely smashed it.

The process of getting everything sorted was stress free, professional and accommodating!

The staff and events team are Incredible, not only are they excellent at what they do, they have fun doing it. Nothing is too much and they always went above and beyond.

Sophie made the whole process headache free and clear when planning our reception.

I’ll break it down some more below:

The Venue: Modern, spacious, light and amazingly situated (the views are the best around)

The food: with the venue change our wedding breakfast menu changed also, but this wasn’t a problem and they came up with a fantastic, delicious menu and it was a hit with all our family and friends, high praises all round!

Parking: Plentiful, with an overflow if needed AND brilliantly placed disabled spaces.

Staff: As said above, we know hospitality can be hectic and stressful, but all of them were fantastic and happy to be there, they really have a great team dynamic and they’re super attentive.

Facilities: Clean, fresh and modern toilets and well appointed accessible WCs.

I could go into super detailed, but if you’ve read this far take my word for it, if you’re planning a wedding in Falmouth, don’t look anywhere else, pop up for a drink and take the venue in, you will want to have your special day here.

In recent years, the Falmouth golf club has built the clubhouse to encompass the bar and restaurant: Above the Bay And it is literally above the bay with stunning far reaching views down and over Falmouth Additionally, the 18th hole is just in front of the viewing gallery and outside seating area as players complete the course. Ive witnessed some great drives down to the green and during some competitions great prizes are on offer for anyone achieving a hole in one...can you do it? The restaurant itself serves very tasty wholesome and filling meals catering for vegan and vegetarian guests as well as a wide range of main meals with the emphasis on quality, truly enjoyable food. The bar is well stocked with low and zero alcohol drinks alongside great tasting ales and beers along with a well assured wine list. I live nearby, and often pop in with my dog for an enjoyable pint and to enjoy the view and hospitality. We had such high expectations for this place with their excellent menu, social media making it look so inviting & it recently being revamped.

Unfortunately we were so let down, below average food & service that needs serious training. There is such fantastic potential with a beautiful restaurant & lovely views but it needs work. Front of house need general training in customer service & serving. Basics like checking on meals, offering more drinks & menus without requesting them after you’ve been seated - that kind of thing. All very simple.
