This was our last night in Falmouth and met up with family who live out here. Emma, the manager, was amazing and managing a booking for us at 5pm on Tuesday night and we were so looking forward to eating here, especially as the restaurant had such a good reputation. We sat at the tables within the enclosure; we asked if we could sit on the sunny side and were told that these were reserved for locals. When I asked how come they could book these but we couldn't', we were told they know to order them by table number and we would have to move when someone came. We did sit on the sunny side and no one came during our time there. On the whole, service was disjointed. Lots of delays ordering drinks, then food; people waiting at the entrance for a period to time to be seated constantly. Food was good. I can see where the reputation of this being a decent restaurant comes from but the service needs to match the price they charge as at the moment, it's way off. They just need to work out their service, make sure to get orders in and communicate well between staff. IE No idea of specials (we weren’t told about them), burger off the menu, one of our party was so looking forward to, replacement was steak in sauce (not a burger!!). Asked for sauces and waitresses walked off to deal with people waiting. When she came back, had to ask if she’d heard what we asked for as just walked off with no acknowledgment. She explained they’d opened downstairs and it was getting busy. Dessert menus were soiled with food stains which is not acceptable when you have disposable paper menus under covid. Great food. Not great service. Would normally turn a blind eye but not at this price.

Dined out with a few friends yesterday evening at a sea food restaurant in Falmouth. Superb location overlooking a beach and ok food albeit a little gimmicky and a lot more expensive than it was worth (pasta was overcooked, and the clam fettuccine and crab risotto was so overpowered with garlic you couldn’t taste the clams OR the crab. However, the Scollops and the focaccia were very good and well presented). However, the reason for this review... one of our friends felt ill within 30 minutes of eating a tuna starter and a shellfish platter. Upon stepping outside for some fresh air, she was violently sick over the railings on to the rocks below. Clearly a reaction to one of the dishes. Very disappointingly the staff didn't seem bothered. We sought some help and asked for water, a cold compress etc to comfort our friend, but the staff didn't really know how to react and simply responded to my dad’s instructions and went back about their business. Still almost no attention or concern other than a quick apology and gone again, they didn’t come back to check on her. Our table meanwhile, with all of its finished plates felt ignored and avoided by my myself and our other guests. The sick friend left feeling ill and we picked up the bill, at which point we asked if it could be acknowledged and discussed that one of their customers had endured such a bad experience here, and clearly been made ill by one of the dishes. We were offered to speak to the General Manager by someone who I assume must have been a Supervisor, so we agreed. She disappeared and five minutes later the same person returned (with no general manager) and said they would deduct the tuna starter but not the platter as it was shared with one other. Quite amazed by this response. We said it wasn't about a refund, although gratefully received, it was about the lack of attention or acknowledgement of the incident and the complete disappearance of the proposed general manager? A seafood restaurant with a customer being violently ill on their premises should be of real concern to the staff and their bosses. It was anything but! It is also cause for concern regarding which food was the likely culprit for which there was no discussion, apology or concern. No attempt to investigate to ensure that the contaminated batch (of whichever dish was to blame) didn’t make it to another customer. This is customer service of the lowest kind, very unprofessional and very disappointing that this is happening in one of our local restaurants which has one of the best locations in the Falmouth area. I am quite certain that the local custom is probably not their target audience, but those visiting and simply seduced by the location. However, the main concern is that they didn’t actively react to the issue when it happened, there was no acknowledgement afterwards until we brought it up, and no investigation to isolate the contaminated shellfish and ensure there was no repeat event with other customers. Be careful eating here, as they clearly do not care if they are serving their customers...

We visited here after graduation for a special meal, we’ve eaten numerous times at hooked in Truro and it’s always 10/10. So we were looking forward to trying this location. We rang weeks before regarding accessibility as my 88 year old grandmother walks with a frame and was told there was accessible access, when we arrive we realised this was a narrow door with no ramp making it very difficult to get her up. We were seated at a lovely table and got everyone seated, when a waitress came over and told us we had to move as wed been seated at the wrong table and it was for a special party. Working in hospitality management myself I was abit taken aback at the way this was handled, once we were at our new table I had to ask twice for the drinks menu even with 2 waitresses stood idle at the bar but then things took a turn and everything seemed very rushed, starters came out swifty, oysters were gorgeous but the cod roe foccacia was burnt on the sides but still tasty. Mains came out and were delicious and cooked to perfection (Duck, Lobster and Scallops). We shared some deserts and still had 1/3 of a bottle of wine when I assume he was the manager came over and told us our lift was waiting outside and a card machine was thrust on us without us asking for it, a shame as our lift was going to wait and we were going to finish the night with cocktails. I very much felt like they wanted our table and us gone, at other establishments this might fly but not a £200 dinner. Unfortunately it slightly tainted my special day and my feelings for the company. To end on a postitive the waitress we had, younger with dark hair was fantastic and really helped with my...
