Beach pleasant, stony but pretty. Cafe is diabolical. Went to the beach after working in Falmouth most of the day with colleagues. Decided to finish the day by having a bit to eat before traveling back to Plymouth. My 4 colleagues queue to get food whilst myself and my friend hold a table as it was busy and one of my colleagues has a hip problem so needs a seat. Our friends order food, return and then we go and join queue. By the time we get to the front despite no signs being displayed, we are told kitchen has closed. I could have cried, I blurted out are you joking, I haven’t eaten since 7.30 and it was just gone 3. I was informed whilst the server was grinning that they had crisps! She said kitchen closed 20 minutes ago, which I pointed out was a blatant lie as my friends ordered food. She did ask the kitchen staff but they refused to offer any help and just allowed the grinning ignorant girl serving to offer crisps again. I was so hungry and thirsty I reluctantly purchased water and a cake, and sat with my friends who all had their lunches Seriously how stupid you have a beach full of people and you stop serving I drove to asda bought a sandwich before driving back to Plymouth Would never recommend or return here horrible experience, horrible staff, just...
Read moreSwanpool Beach is an absolutely beautiful small beach in Cornwall. It’s so picture perfect with crystal clear water and so many fun activities to do there. You almost feel as if you’re abroad if it’s a really sunny and clear sky day. The food section has a huge selection of ice creams, drinks and hot food at very affordable prices. You can take paddle boarding classes, there’s a swimming club, kayaking and many more activities. It’s a great day out for kids and families. Opposite the beach is a mini golf course and you can see yourself being in that area for hours and hours. Take a walk through the south west coast path and enjoy the the fresh ocean breeze as you approach the next beach called Gyllyngvase Beach (a 10 minute walk or less). There you’ll find a bigger beach with more space and even more food options like their famous pizza. You will be tempted to take a lot of pictures and videos of the vast ocean view and the scenery...
Read moreLovely sandy beach (not shingle as described), very close to Falmouth but away from the bustle of the town. The large car park is right across the road from the beach - very handy. There's a cafe on the north side of the beach and toilets to the southern end, just over the road. Easy put-in for canoe, kayak or paddleboards with a sheltered bay to paddle around. You can hire equipment from the watersports school for sailing, kayaking, or try coasteering. Swanpool Lake is next to the carpark and beach if you fancy a walk and spot some birds. Five minutes walk along the path from the north side of the cove is Gyllyngvase beach - another sandy place with plenty of facilities too (seasonal dog ban here from 15th May to 30th September - 10am to 6pm). Dogs not allowed on Swanpool beach from 1st July and 31st August between 10am and 6pm, other than to cross it on a lead. Dogs on leads are allowed to visit the cafe where water can be...
