We booked Amchur as a last minute decision based on the reviews here. And I’m so glad we did!

We were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant and shown to our table. We quizzed the waiter as to what dishes we should order as we wanted to try something different. I went for the laal Maas (pretty hot!) and my wife chose the Amchur Himalayan chicken curry, along with some rice and a bread.

We didn’t have to wait too long for our food to be brought to our table. The food was absolutely delicious! Piping hot and so very tasty.

I’d definitely recommend Amchur for the food and the very polite waiter, who continually checked on us throughout our time at the table.

The prices are reasonable and there is no service charge (2 of us dined).

Tip: you cannot park directly outside the restaurant due to parking restrictions. The road behind the restaurant (Albany Road) does not have any restrictions and there were many...

Went on a Monday evening, it was quiet yet service was slow. Food was average and it is the first time that I have visited a restaurant where they charge you for condiments! We ordered poppadoms, which were £1 each and they arrived with 3 small pots - mango chutney (from a supermarket jar), mint chutney, and sliced onions with some turmeric. Each pot had around 2 tablespoons. We asked for some more mint chutney as it was not enough and got the same amount of 2 tablespoons again. We were charged £1.90 for all this in addition to the £1 per poppadom! I do not mind paying for good food but this was ridiculous!! I also noticed another reviewer had mentioned this is a pure vegetarian restaurant - this is incorrect, as it also serves non-vegetarian food cooked in the...

At old Windsor in a quiet place (at least it was quiet when we went in the new year eve), this Indo Nepalese restaurant is quite good with a good atmosphere, tasty food and very warm service from the team. The restaurant has small availability of parkings which we could get as it was quiet on that day. However, one small feedback - The price is on the higher side, I understand, it is in Windsor but the portions of starters are really less with respect to the price (compared to other restaurants in London and around). But good thing is that the amount of each item in the main course were sufficient. So, they can really think of the price vs portions for their starters, if they want to...

Went for a Travelzoo 3 course offer. This didn’t include rice/bread which was extra as well as the drinks. They couldn’t guarantee the Gobi Manchurian was dairy free so I had Onion Bhaji which was excellent. This couldn’t be guaranteed gluten free so my wife had the chilli paneer which was nice but slightly hard on the edge. The keema (gluten free) was apparently excellent though I had to play spot the lentil in my veggie Dhansak which was distinctly average, seemed like mixed frozen veg. The Mango Sorbet was nice and my wife enjoyed the carrot pudding. Pleasant interior though rather cold and somewhat haphazard if generally friendly service. Some parking outside.
