Beautiful pub lovely atmosphere. Nicely decorated It makes such a pleasant change to go in to a pub and be served at your table rather than have to go to the bar to order food. We were served by Mark. Friendly and efficient service. The food was delicious, nicely served and very filling. There is a great selection of second hand books that can be bought for £1.50 donation go to a Swan charity. There is an amazing and very large beer garden Blankets that can be borrowed to keep you warm outside or heated huts. Fruit and veg is grown in the garden too. It was very impressive. Definitely worth a visit

A short drive from Windsor and with some parking. Four of us called in on a Thursday evening. We sat inside, but the garden area was absolutely beautiful. Loads of space both inside and out. A gorgeous old building. The staff were very kind and welcoming. We all enjoyed our food. The service was very efficient and with a smile. The atmosphere was relaxed. It looked very pet friendly and also had a pretty resident cat called Foxy.

We use to go to this pub/restaurant because of the large outdoor playground. Well, it's gone! The pub is still there under new management and they're refurbishing the garden, getting rid of the playground. I don't think this is a good commercial move as the restaurant was empty despite the good weather; usually it was packed with families at weekend. Other rule is no sports clothing, so if you have been to Virginia waters for a walk and fancy a bite and a pint, you'll have to go somewhere else or get changed. The food and service is very good, probably better than before. The staff is friendly and polite and don't rush you about. Sunday roast was perfect but as said, would the good food keep them afloat? Bill was reasonable and no surprises like added service charges that many establishments throw in there nowadays, so very good for food service and prices. A star lost with the lost playground. Unfortunately we will be back once the children grow up, shame because the...

Had a birthday party 15 people booked only 14 seats available luckily the children squeezed together ...staff were freindly enough and took our orders quite quickly ...when food came out it came in dribs and drabs so done people were nearly finishing when others arrived one person asked for no cheese on her salad and came with cheese waited an age for a coffee children had to ask again for sides they had ordered and when ordering one person specifically asked to change the sauce on her linguine but it still came out wrong 15 minutes after everyone else's food then got changed and didn't need to be paid for ...when asking for the bill the waitress came over with a figure write on a peice of paper and asked "ok" no actual bill to look at to see how much things were and if linguine had been taken off the bill. So overall very disappointed and wouldn't recommend for...

The Fox & Castle has much to recommend it: a ‘proper’ pub look & atmosphere; welcoming, competent staff (who actually provide two things that seem to be a rarity nowadays: table service & smiles); a good range of beers (not to mention a large selection of spirits); tasty food, often with options beyond standard pub grub.

The garden is lovely & very much dog-friendly, although hounds should beware the pub cat, who brooks no canine nonsense.

I’ve never had a bad experience at the Fox & I am in there far too often. Special mention should go to barmaids Mark, Lucy & Charlotte, plus chefs Sarah & Simon, who all do their utmost to deliver quality service. The boss-lady, Kamila, runs a very tight ship, although could be mistaken for being a little stern at times.

Couldn’t ask for a better local, although could perhaps wish for a cheaper one.

Would...
