Popped in for a coffee and cake on the way to view a wedding venue, we are Cornish locals but had never been to Amy's before! Cakes looked AWESOME! Young girl who served us, asked if we had booked, slammed open and closed bookings diary. Said we could have a table for 2 and then promptly ignored us. Other lovely young lady came over and took our order, 2 coffees and 2 cakes. Rude young girl brought the cakes over and slammed them on the table, didn't ask who's were who's, we said thank you very cheerily and she walked off really quickly. Lovely girl was making our coffees and the other was ignoring her while she struggled to serve people and complete our coffees. In the end, a lovely gent made us 2 really lovely coffees and we had a lovely friendly chat with him. Food and drink was absolutely lovely, with an unfortunate attitude problem from one waitress. Table nearby were also served by her, and we heard them saying how odd her behaviour was. Made us feel as though we had done...
Read moreVisited for breakfast at the perfect time before it got too busy. The decor is beautiful and there are plenty of tables both indoors and out, with a separate indoor dog friendly section as you enter. The menu is large with a variety of dishes from breakfast into lunch. We opted for the full cornish breakfast and cinnamon French toast. The full cornish was hearty and a decent size, the French toast while presented beautifully I felt had too much berry "compote" (more like watery juice), comparing to other reviewers photos of the dish it looked like mine was prepared a little different. Therefore my French toast was rather soggy and far too tart from all the berry juice. I ate half as we didn't have time to hang around and reorder, however I'm leaving this review for the kitchen to take note 😊 The prices we felt were a little high when looking through the menu, nevertheless a lovely place to stop at when...
Read moreVisited Amy’s for breakfast after being recommended it multiple times. We must’ve had an off day because it was nothing above average. Both girls serving had a bad attitude as soon as we walked in. We asked not to sit underneath the speaker because it was SO loud, she reluctantly let us move else where (even though we were the only people there) it was 9am! My friend who I visited with said the service was always great, so she was shocked by what we experienced this day.
Shame because my breakfast was delicious! Couldn’t fault it, the eggs were perfect. Only issue is it is VERY overpriced…£12 for the breakfast I had was steep. Especially when I could go to Lewinnick Lodge, have a gorgeous view, and it be £2 cheaper…it doesn’t make sense for a Garden Centre cafe.
I honestly would visit again if the staff l were welcoming and it was a...
