The offer on the Apple Cart menu states 2 for 1 main course meals so I ordered the Mega Mixed Grill x 2 for the price of £22.75... When I got the meals placed on my table, they were so "grilled" the sausages and steak burger were burnt to charcoal and to hard to cut with a steak knife.. The gammon, lamb chop, pork steak was equal to shoe leather, cooked out any moisture within the meat.. The rump steak was requested to be medium rare, sadly it was covered in the burnt Ash that the other meats had, equally was the tomatoes and mushrooms with burnt grit (like sand) or scrappings that flaked off the grill itself.. Only only thing that looked respectfully tasty was the tinned peas and the 3 onion rings that were deep fried..
The replacement 8 sausages (2 sausages on each plate ordered - totally my 2 plates and Teddy's 2 plates) were cooked correctly but the sight of these new sausages against the burnt remains on our plates just destroyed any appetite we had... Especially for the price... If you look closer to the photo of 1 of the 2 for 1 meals I ordered, you can see the black spots on my chips, and tomatoes and the mushrooms, well they were just black... Liking to the sponges they would use to clean the grill itself....
It would have been different if 1 of the 4 Mega Mixed Grill plates was poorly cooked, but to destroy all 4 plates and allow them to reach the customer to eat (seen and passed as edible by the cook himself, the waitress and the manager too) is a complete shambles... The manager came to our table and apologised and stated that he seen the condition of the food as the waitress past him by, and yet he did not attempt to stop the waitress in her tracks, instead allowed us, their customers to see what their offer is really like... Shocking how this manager lost nearly £90.00 in 4 plates of quality food to be burnt (not grilled, but burnt) and served... Not even making the attempt to remove the 4 plates from our table as I approached him at the bar about the horrendous ordeal... These plates stayed on our table until AFTER we left our table...
The manager only charged me for the Nachos and cheese and...

Service wasn't much better either sadly...Hot plates of food continuously put down in front of a toddler who kept trying to grab them meaning we had to keep playing hot potato with them ourselves seeing as the waitress was oblivious to the risk involved. Was offered free drinks or dessert due to the food issues but already had full glasses of drink in front of us and had brought a cake for the birthday meal which we had rung up before to make sure was ok to have, and to be kept out back and brought out when requested. So we politely declined both offers and no other gestures of goodwill were made. Cake was then brought out, but was still in it's box, and had been left in a very warm kitchen and not refrigerator. Waitress left it on the table with just a napkins and a knife, which considering the experience we already had we felt was rather poor. This was a professionally made cake which was now not in great shape, and overall not a great experience. Lots of issues which on their own would be considered little things, but the whole combination led to a rather rubbish birthday meal out. Had various poor experiences there before and felt like we should give them another shot, but never again I'm afraid. Sadly no pictures taken, as by the time that crossed our mind, certain items...

I love my steaks - rump steak to be exact. I ordered a 10 oz rump cooked medium. When it arrived it looked like a piece of frying steak it was so thin and was separated in three places by obvious grissle and the fat around the edges must have taken up at least three of the ten ounces. It was also slightly blackened on the outside and when I cut into it, not only was it well done but overdone. I did try one piece but had to put it into my napkin as it was grissle. It was so disgusting that I asked to speak to the manager who then proceeded to tell me that their steaks come in 'pre-cut' and it is impossible for ANY chef to see where grissle OR fat is before they cook it. What a ridiculous statement - fat is white and grissle is quite obvious. Firstly the chef should not have put it anywhere near a plate and whoever was expediting should have picked up that this was not acceptable. However, it WAS presented to me and had I eaten it, would have been charged £14.25!
As I knew that the steaks were pre cut I refused another and demanded a refund. They did however charge just shy of £10 for two glasses of house white wine.
My son and his friend had ordered other menu items and seemed to enjoy them however, I strongly recommend that if you want a decent steak avoid the Apple Cart...
