This is a comment in response to the comment posted by a Mr. “Mono Aggarwal” . I would like to tell bloggers a second version of events with regards to Mr. Aggarwals experience at the Crescent Café, as there are always two sides to one story. The sandwich in question was actually made with homemade meatballs, served on a bed of caramlised onions and sprinkled with mature cheddar encased in a ciabatta bun. The meatballs were made fresh on the day and all food is always made to order, we stand firm by that, as a company “won’t serve fast food, we serve good food well”. What Mr Mono Aggarwal failed to mention is he also had refreshments with his food, specifically if I remember correctly a cappuccino which then was priced at £2.50 so I will let you do the maths.
I know it is difficult to please every customer and unfortunately there will always be the minority who come into an establishment with a negative attitude, and we felt as staff on this particular day there was nothing we could do to please Mr Mono Aggarwal; he was irritated by the fact that we didn’t have wifi or a card machine as of yet. When we tried to explain that we had just undergone a major refurbishment and these things were on the agenda and obviously take time he wasn’t pleased and we knew from then on that even if he was served Michelin star cuisine that he still wouldn’t be happy. We have never had complaints about this particular sandwich (which actually was created by our customers) or any authentic food we serve and I would like to think if a customer wasn’t happy with the service provided or the food they were given they would approach management so that we may attempt to rectify and turn a bad experience into a positive one. As managers we would like to invite Mr. Mono Aggarawal to come in and discuss with us what was so “bad” about his experience, an issue which could have been solved before he even left...
Read moreA long standing family run cafe which although it has seats inside i dont think iv seen anyone use them to have a cup of coffe and the reason why is the ICE CREAM. I have yet to find a single home made ice cream place to better this, and i have tired many. This beats the place at Amble and even the famous one in the lake district.
Usually have at least 3 flavors on each day and the best bit is they stay open week days til 7 at night. Not many places do these days.
Perfect ice cream and yeah its more expensive then store bought vanilla for example but that's because its much better! And to be honest if you look at the overpriced tubs from Hagendaz and Ben and Jerry's and compare the taste to this stuff Id say this is better for you and tastes just as good.
I would highly recommend this place but be warned it is so popular that any hot sunny day means the queue is literally out the door and around the block (no joke)
Plus as a bonus when the daughter is serving you get served delicious family home made ice cream by an Italian bombshell! Who could...
Read moreMe and my friend went today and honestly the ice cream was delicious but 1 it so expensive 2 the information on the menus are not explicit and 3 the staff were very rude. We looked at the menu and I thought I was getting an 4 scoop tub for £8 but no it was a huge tub (and I mean huge) of vanilla ice cream I had no choice on the flavour. But I through nothing of it as it is a warm day and like I said it was very delicious. However my friend just wanted a small 1 scoop tub that is hardly 1 scoop for £3.40 which to me is a ridiculous price for a half scoop. Anyway we were unaware that they had a £5 minimus spend and my friend couldn’t afford it so I offered to pay for her. However I would have still had to spend £5 extra on top on the already £8 I spent. But the staff instead of saying “apologies we have a minimum spend so you can’t have this without something else” they just moved the tub back and said “well you can’t have it” which is just plain rude. Like I said the ice cream was lovely however customer service is appalling and...
