Victoria & Albert Inn — Restaurant in England

We certainly won’t be going back. Arrived at the pub at 7pm ordered drinks and then went to the bar to order food to be told they were extremely busy as they had just eat orders, so could we order in about half an hour. I went back half an hour later to be asked to come back again in 10 mins. Went back 10 mins later to again be told that they could not take orders come back in 10 mins. The next time I attempted to order I was told the dishwasher was broken so they were having to wash everything by hand, someone would come to tell us when they were taking orders. No one had come to see us by 8pm so I again went to the bar to then be told they weren’t cooking food anymore. At no point from when we entered the pub to leaving did I see anyone else in the pub eating. Appalling customer service, we left hungry and had to go to a takeaway on the way home. We literally could have ordered on Just Eat and had our food served in the pub, but customers actually in the pub sitting there wanting to eat couldn’t.

If they’d told us when we arrived at 7 they couldn’t serve food we wouldn’t have minded, it was the over an hour long fob offs to be finally told they weren’t serving that was...

What has happened to The Victoria and Albert? Turned up today for Sunday lunch, we had pre-booked a table for 2pm(booked Friday evening) Arrived at about 1.50pm, the place was almost empty, told the young girl at the bar that we had a table booked and gave our name, sorry she said we don't have that booking, but I'm sure we can find you a table, I'm sure you could as you were empty.she couldn't find any Sunday lunch menus, so she and the other bar girl went back of house to find them leaving us standing at the bar. Erm hello, why didn't you ask if we would like to order our drinks, or even show us to a table and bring the menus to the table when you had them?. We waited for 5 mins and when no one had returned decided this was definitely not the place for us. We have been for Sunday lunch on several occasions and have always had a good experience,with great food, What on earth has happened, no wonder...

Booked a table for 6 at 3:30 on Mother’s Day for Sunday roast. Arrived early so had a drink at our table first. When we went to order food at 3:45 we were told there was no food left! Nobody told us when we arrived that there was a shortage of food or a wait, even though there was already a 2 hour wait before the food ran out. It was impossible to get in anywhere else so our meal was 6 bags of crisps, which they charged me for!!!Shocking. Very badly handled, nobody came to apologise or offer drinks on the house or any other...
