Athena — Restaurant in England

Disappointing. Sadly the restaurant was understaffed. It was busy and buzzing on a Friday night. We waited a really long time to order food and drinks, and even longer for it to come out. We understand it was busy but there was no apology for the delay. The customer service was really not good and very awkward. We had 4 small dips and only 2 of the starters, as the 3rd did not arrive. After 1 and a half hours we decided to leave as we were hungry. I went to settle the bill for what we had eaten, and was charged the full set menu cost for three and a couple of drinks. I would have liked to give this place 5 stars. The food certainly looked excellent. But as I was given no food, no explanation or apology and abandoned without the meal I had ordered it will have to be a 1 star.

Affordable deals during the week, highly recommended venue for a spot of feeling like you are in Greece- or indeed in the Mamma Mia movie; thanks to the decor!! Easy to book, and lovely welcome when you arrive. This was our first time, and was highly recommended by a friend - it was a birthday dinner and we had the best show we have ever seen!
