Subway — Restaurant in England

I’ve just left this outlet with my seven year old. Generally the food is great here but the service has been taking a nose dive of late unfortunately. I’ve had a few ropey experiences, especially with the younger staff… true or not, I’m now often made to feel like they’ve taken a dislike to me, oddly. In itself, this is of almost no concern to me… it is just very irritating, when all I’m trying to do is buy my son a sandwich after school! I know I haven’t had to shoulder the responsibility of making sandwiches today, only work fifteen feet up a ladder, sanding down and restoring Victorian sash windows, but I am still tired too! For reasons too nuanced for a second class citizen like me to easily discern, the young man who served me was more furious with me than my “furious” chicken sandwich, even nearly snapping when I failed to immediately tell him what variety of bread I wanted with this spicy but rewarding filling! He then proceeded to throw our food together like there was nowhere he wanted to be or anyone he wanted to serve LESS than me! Well look, I can only thank you for taking pity on my son and I and selling us some sandwiches, young man… it’s not like the money we paid for them is paying your wages is it… if you’re finding sandwich making tough then the least I can do is offer you a busman’s holiday, whereby you come and work for me for a week… maybe then you won’t take your job or paying customers for...

Disgusting behaviour from staff, I am a young adult myself and was picking up my nephew from school and treating him to lunch, granted I understand I look young for my age and my nephew is very tall. I was made to feel very incomfortable by staff in particular one staff member named Mimi. She was very abrupt and actually walked straight to the till after making our order and made another customer move away from the till so she could make me pay, I think she thought I would steal but I don’t understand how I would or why. I had already decided I wanted to upgrade my meal but ask she had tried to rush me into pay she didn’t even ask me or give me the chance to ask for the upgrade in the end another member of staff had to serve us at the till. I have never had anything bad to say about this subway until my interaction with this one member of staff in particular that I’ve never seen in there before. Ordered 2 6 inches and asked for both of them to be meals and she decided to only ring up the subs and the crips when I specifically asked for it to be a meal. When I asked her if she rang it up as meals (because she didn’t give me the cups for the drink) she then spoke to me in a really rude matter. I repeated myself and told her I asked for them to be meals and she said I could buy two drinks for and pay extra for them for HER mistake, with no apology whatsoever...
