Banwell Garden Centre — Restaurant in England

Ordered a summerhouse, we knew it was going to be a few months wait which we understood due to Covid. It was a month later than told which again we would have understood but we had no communication from the garden centre at all. When it finally was delivered, a part was wrong. When we phoned up they said they had noticed before delivery but delivered it anyway. Didn't apologise or seem bothered, just kept blaming the supplier and not taking ownership of the problem. Told the part would be changed on a certain day and it didn't turn up, phoned up again and staff member was extremely rude (understatement). So many issues with the whole thing, too long to put into a review, I could have coped with the problems if the staff had any customer service skills. They avoided contact with me and never called or messaged me back when I tried to contact them. Staff member extremely arrogant. I handed in my caged hanging basket to be filled. This was over 3 weeks ago and I hadn't had a phone call to say it was ready. So I decided to call them last Thursday. They said my order was ready so not sure why noone had bothered to ring me???? so I payed by card over the phone a sum of £40. This I thought was very pricey for one large hanging basket. We then went to collect today to find they had completely messed the order up and instead of paying for one large hanging basket I was paying for 2 wicker hanging baskets?? They have clearly lost my hanging basket cage which I am not impressed with. I didn't even get an apology off them messing my order up. The member of staff who dealt with the situation poorly, may I add was male, never told me that I could possibly get a refund for clearly being over charged until I rang up alittle later. I will never ever shop at this garden centre again and will not recommend...

Update December 2024: they have Christmas trees in pots! Very happy to find them locally and at a reasonable price, feels better than cutting down a tree. Well done Banwell Garden Centre for encouraging environmentally friendly practice!

Such friendly staff! They were actually in the process of shutting the shop but welcomed us in and we had a nice chat. Prices are VERY reasonable, though they still have a coffee machine with all the extras that chain shops have. Also a fantastic selection of cheap books on gardening, mindfulness, crosswords, some novels etc - cheap because they're not new releases! What a bargain. The real highlight was the lovely staff :)
