If you asked me if I would recommend them before today, I would have given this place a good review. And in fact I was only telling a friend about the food at this place yesterday.
However tonight, we ordered on line and 5 minutes later we had a call from the owner to say that they could not deliver as we had previously called a driver a “gypsy”.
We explained that he must have the wrong house as we would never say that to anyone and that my partners son used to work at his restaurant and always spoke to the delivery guys as he knew them from When he worked there, So it couldn’t have been us.
He then went on to explain that it was someone in the house that said it, we again said that he was wrong and this did not happen. We asked if this had anything to do with my partners ex working there now as a driver (and Working tonight) and if this was the real reason. He still said no it was because we had abused the driver when he delivered.
He then explained that we could go and collect but that he couldn’t deliver.
Does this not beg the question that.. if we had truthfully abused their driver then surely they would not want our business at all…Whether it be collection or delivery?
I’ve never left a negative review about a small business like this before as it goes against the grain for me. However, to lie about us just so that my partners ex doesn’t have to deliver here is appalling and not very customer centric at all.
We are yet awaiting confirmation of the refund of the payment we have made on line.

However today we ordered for 7:30 and received our food before 5:30 I normally wouldn’t mind but we said this to the delivery guy but he just left with the money I called and the manager just kept repeating there was not time on the order although it took 2 hours from ordering the food to it arriving so they clearly didn’t start the food when the order came through. Read moreWe paid this restaurant a visit on a Monday evening around 7 as its my girlfriends favourite place locally. It was very quiet as you would expect but there did seem to be a steady stream of take outs and deliveries. We were greeted as we entered and COVID restrictions in were place as we gave our details and shown to our table. The barman sorted drinks for us quickly and took our orders soon after. The food took a long time (40 minutes) which is a good sign that it was freshly cooked. It tasted fantastic and we left barely anything so we were very satisfied. I do have 2 slight criticisms however. A noisy barrel delivery in to the restaurant during service slightly ruined the ambiance and seeing someone stood eating in the kitchen was not a great sight during these times of enhanced hygiene.
