On arrival, we were seated quickly and then asked if we wanted poppadoms (we'll come back to these later!). We were then asked if we were having one of the meal deals - all you can eat and drink or the set price for main, nan, rice. We agreed on all you can eat. We were then asked if we could give them our full order as the kitchen was very busy. Okay, fair enough. So, we ordered our starters and mains, being warned that we could not take anything home. Again, fair enough.

The starters came out within 10 mins or so and were lovely, especially the onion bhajis (all 3 of them!) though the chicken tikka was swimming in oil (see photo).

We then had to wait at least an hour for our main courses. When they finally arrived, the chicken and lamb dishes (tikka masala and sag) were described as good. The vegetable jalfrezi seemed to have every vegetable thrown in (diced carrot, aubergine, sweetcorn, green lentils, potatoes, etc with massively hot green chillis) but lacking in the main ingredients of a jalfrezi, i.e. peppers and onions (I counted two pieces of onion and one pepper), making it a very disappointing meal.

There was very little to differentiate the cheese naan from the plain naan. The rice, however, was cooked well.

Additional chicken tikka was ordered, much to what appeared to be the annoyance of the one member of serving staff, who seemed to question why we wanted more. The atmosphere itself felt very rushed, despite the long wait for food, because there was one person taking orders and serving food and drinks so he was rushing around here, there and everywhere! A lack of air conditioning made it very warm and somewhat stifling.

When we asked for the bill, we were informed that poppadoms were not part of the deal so 6 poppadoms plus sauces cost an additional £9.

Only one toilet was working, and even that was slightly dodgy with a broken seat.

Unfortunately, I won't be in a...

I normally use a different curry house but though I would try a different one. Never again. Bengal Square are dreadful.

I spent £25, ordered my meal at 5.14pm. It turned up at 7.10pm. When the delivery driver arrive he pressed the button for my neighbour (even though our door numbers are clearly marked) so I had to speak to him outside the window. To my amazement the curry had spilt all in the bag. I said you have to be kidding me so told him to take it away.

Was told I had to email for a refund the second time I phoned. The third time I phoned they said they would refund me and send out another meal within 20 mins. After 30 mins I phoned again. They said hes on his way. Took another 15 for my food arrived. Food arrived at 7.55pm. Half of it was cold and soggy, the rest was awful. To be honest I think I could have cooked better. Hopefully I will receive my refund.

Does anyone think this is an acceptable delivery time. Who is running this business? Think they may need to go back to business school to understand how to run a restaurant, oh and how to cook.

I will never order from them...

OUTSTANDING FOOD, AMAZING VALUE wow, what can i say, I'm angry at myself for not ordering from here before, with the 40% discount code, its fantastic value for money, honestly. the staff very pleasant, the size of the portions are so soooo much. my wife and I had 2 big plates of food for 3 days.and there was even more left over. gutted we had to bin after 4 days. maybe we hit a one night lucky? ordering again tomorrow, so will be back to say. we have ordered from many in Swindon....but so far, this has been the best. i collected, 2 min drive, it was pipping hot in temp, well packaged and on time, 25 mins. Give it a try, don't miss out for years like...

I had a lovely evening out with a friend here. There was a deal on for Sunday evening and it was such good value for money. The food was lovely and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Will be visiting again!
