Only just discovered this place as it was recommended by a neighbour. We are a sucker for a Garden Center with a coffee shop so decided to go check it out. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. The Sports village is just down the road so if your dropping younger ones off for training this is ideal to go and treat yourself instead of sitting on the side lines as usual. Located within the Garden Centre itself there is plenty of seating inside and out depending on the weather. Good choice of food on offer from meals to scones and cakes depending on your appetite. The food we had was lovely and the pot of tea seemed to go on for ever. Good value for money compared to similar venues and will certainly be going back to try out more from the menu. Take out also seems to be an option if you like the looks of their massive Peach Melba but don't have time to sit in. Highly recommended if you are in the area or just passing through.

It’s a lovely space and a big coffee tea shop… but I would make some changes if I were the owners ..awful little cup and saucers tea is Ringtons just so ordinary and no flavour had chocolate cake and again so ordinary for 4:80 … It’s local to me and a pity it could be special ,,,,

Popped I'm for a bit if lunch after visiting the sunflowers at East Grange Farm. Cafe was busy and an hours wait for hot food. We plumped for a slice of mince pie and cake with a cuppa.

I'm just a pot of tea person so any comments here are reserved for the very promising customer service skills of a young girl who was working quickly and efficiently behind the counter this afternoon.

It was a case of quickly until I engaged her in a little too much conversation causing a queue to start building behind me.

Firstly I'm really glad that Amanda told me that your name was ERYN. I'd only come across an Erin before and thought this might be one of those trendy variations of it ... Not so ! ..... its a lovely Gaelic variation of " IRELAND "

You see Eryn , I can type to my heart's content and nobody's going to tell me off for it !! ..... Joking aside , your manager had every right to say something to you when I engaged you in chat about cash payments. There's a fine dividing line between having good customer service and being business - like. It turns out I liked the way your manager ( sorry no name for you today! ) just offered a quiet word without embarrassing you at all.

Amanda said all the staff at the Brambles coffee shop are lovely and I have no reason to argue with her ! .... I saw one of your colleagues the other day hurriedly eating a pot noodle chatting to a customer (lunch break ?! )

I thought to myself then , they must save all the good stuff for the customers !. We are coming to the end of this review shortly but I must mention there's probably only you and me Eryn who saw that delicious slice of cake slip from your tongs and dive - bomb into the counter tier below ! Naturally you were taken aback but impressively unphased. I was amazed that you not only served the customer a fresh slice but carefully retrieved the injured one and put it aside ( not thrown out btw ) This was quick thinking under pressure .... well done 👏

Let's hope one of your deserving colleagues scoffs it at closing time as it was still perfectly edible.

I reckon that , despite you being a young person you are a considerable asset to the smooth running of the shop already .... Its not beyond the realms of possibility that you may become a manager one day yourself and then you'll be giving instead of receiving a quiet word.

Ps ... you have a ready smile and outward going personalty which always helps !

Best wishes

Mr...

We had been looking forward to afternoon tea as our summer outing with a local group I attend. Booking had been done well in advance, it was disappointing to find they then double booked the room we were meant to be in with a baby shower, our booking was moved into the cafe and we were offered a complimentary glass of fizz which we felt was fair and were still looking forward to the day. Unfortunately the experience was awful, service was terrible and the food left much to be desired. Some of the cakes were still frozen, sandwiches were few and were simply bread with basic filling, cut into triangles with the crusts left on, not your usual dainty afternoon tea offering. The gluten free option was appalling, one of the scones could only be described as the tester dough left over at the end. Tea was like dish water, overall it was shocking. We gave feedback and the manager has offered a half price voucher for us to return, original booking was on a Saturday however our compensation voucher can only be used on a week day, for those of us who work full time, this is not going to happen (wouldn’t waste my annual leave to go back after such a poor first experience) . Wish I could work out how to upload a photo of the ‘scone’, might give you...

My mum and myself went for a breakfast here and I have never been more disappointed. I ordered a full English and my mother a scrambled egg on toast. The full English breakfast Was a slap dash job with no care put into it. Mushrooms were touch warm but like they had been sitting out all morning. The bacon had a real funny taste to it and same with the tomato as was not even cooked... The beans had a weird crust on them like they had been sitting out and lastly the black pudding was warmed on each side for literally a few seconds. Unfortunately the service was none exist and would of been nice for watering staff to clear plates when the customer finishes eating but instead they sat on the table for 30 minutes and as soon as we stood up they cleared the table.. This was 10:30 in morning and was not that busy. We must of caught them on a lazy/bad day..

Although on the other side of things we had an afternoon tea here a few weeks back and it was lovely so not...
