Burger King — Restaurant in England

Oh how I wish we had read the reviews before stopping at this Burger King. We got some cash out of the atm before entering and the litter bin outside wasn't full but the top was full of stinking cigarette ends and the floor around the bin was covered in litter. We should have taken this as a sign and left. The first thing I noticed was how filthy the tables chairs and floor were. We ordered to eat in via the screen I wiped the table and chairs before sitting down. My husband nipped to the loo and came back commenting on how filthy the mens toilets were. We had ordered the BBQ Burgers and fries my husband had opted to remove mayo and tomato sauce from his he chose a coffee and myself a diet coke we chose to eat in. The 2 staff we saw looked very unenthusiastic. The food was ready,it came in a takeaway bag and my cup had a coffee lid on it with no straw! The fries and burger were nice although both burgers had mayo and no bbq sauce! I needed the loo before setting off again the disabled toilets door was ajar allowing me to see how scruffy it was in there. The floor was covered in toilet paper and empty cardboard tubes. The womens toilets weren't any better 2 cubicles were locked and the loo rim was covered in dried excrement on the remaing toilet, the loo roll holder was empty luckily there was a tiny bit of loo roll sat on top of the holder. The hand dryer wasn't working neither was the one in the mens. On leaving I noticed the entrance glass door was filthy. I presume the staff are responsible for cleaning and upkeep of such things.Usually in such places these things are checked hourly and a form ticked to show they have heen been cleaned. We were there an hour after opening surely things should have been checked replenished and cleaned before opening? Reading reviews from 6 months ago saying the same thing I would have thought head office would have stepped in? We certainly won't be stepping...

Upon entering, I immediately noticed that the tables hadn't been cleared, and the table arrangement was in disarray. We placed our food order at the kiosk, which went smoothly, but it took 20 minutes to actually receive our meal, despite the place not being busy at all.

While waiting for our food, I visited the restroom, and it was in a deplorable state. Wet tissues were scattered everywhere, and there was even a discarded pregnancy test box, among other things. Additionally, only one toilet had toilet paper.

When we finally received our meal, our burgers were excessively greasy.

Lastly, the girl at the counter was extremely unhelpful. We needed to change our toddler's nappy, and the disabled toilet was locked. We decided to wait until after our meal, but when we checked again, it was still locked. We asked the girl, and she informed us that it hadn't been cleaned yet. Despite our repeated requests to unlock the toilet due to our impatient toddler, she didn't comply. We had no choice but to drive to a nearby service station to change our child's nappy.

In hindsight, we regret spending our time and money...

Pretty poor visit to be honest, was hungry and needing the toilet so stopped into Burger King, there was a few people in the queue so went to the toilet first, the seat was broken so had to levitate/hover an inch or so above the pan, not very comfortable but needs must, I then washed my hands on the way out and found that the hand drier does not work...nice!! Meantime the queue hadn't got any smaller and there was one member of staff struggling along on her own running the front of the shop single handedly, making fries, making drinks, ice creams, putting orders together, serving more customers etc, so a very good effort to be fair but one member of staff just isn't enough to do all that and make a queue go down fast enough for a fast food outlet. The food was fine and just as you would expect from a Burger King so I can't complain on that part, I just wish it was 10 minutes quicker, my visit today was on a Sunday and mid afternoon so may be the reason why there was a lack of staff, just overall a disappointing visit today but hopefully next time...
