Great food but I was a little disappointed that my 10oz rib eye steak only comes with fries, no mushrooms, tomatoes or onions, everything to be ordered separately, I did swap my fries for the buttered mixed veg, as I'm allergic to butter they didn't put any butter on, mixed veg consists of 1 sugar snap pea, 1 string bean, 1 very small carrot cut in half and a few wilted spring greens, I would have enjoyed them all if they hadn't been cooked in mint, no mention of mint on the menu, fresh veg does not need masking with any other flavour. My steak was £24 so I don't feel it was good value for money however it was cooked exactly as I asked which was medium. My husband had the tandoori salmon kebab which was much better value consisting of large chunks of salmon, monk fish and prawns and came with side orders included £20, he realy enjoyed it and would have it again if we go back. The staff were very friendly and well presented. The surroundings were lovely, airy and bright. A lovely place to dine.

Before going to the restaurant, we had cocktails in the bar lounge. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere, with open fire and the bar staff were helpful. I had a Negroni Sevilla, which was more bitter than I am used too but was still nice and my husband had an old fashioned, which was delicious. In the restaurant, we were asked our preference on where to sit and the maitre d’ was very accommodating on giving us our choice of table. To start we had olives and King Prawns from the grill, both of which were delicious. For mains, I had chicken kebab and my husband had sirloin steak. The peri peri sauce on the kebab seemed like an after thought and didn’t taste like the chicken had been marinated in it and then barbecued. Mixed with the roti and slaw, it tasted fine but wasn’t amazing. The sirloin had a good flavour and texture. The wine which was the red GSM was good.

FYR restaurant or FYRE festival? Both tragic and overpriced failures. Will not be back. Honestly, the only good thing about this restaurant is the wait staff who are absolutely lovely. For a £65 Chateaubriand steak, we would expect it to be cooked as requested. We requested medium rare and after a 45 minute wait were given a we’ll done, dry steak. After asking the waitress to check with the chef how the steak was cooked, we were told by a near tears waitress (who was clearly just yelled at by the chef) the steak was medium rare. It was not. She offered to get the chef to prepare it again for us, however it again would have been another 45 minute wait. In lieu, she offered us fillet steaks instead. The picture is what we got. If the chef thinks this is how you cook a medium rare steak, should he really be working in a grill house? Appalling. We would have sent it back again had we been confident the chef wouldn’t just abuse the poor waitress again. Listen to the Google reviews, save your money and literally eat any where else. After a £120 dinner, we walked to ALDI down the road and had a better meal. Ridiculous.

I got a piri-piri chicken kebab for £23.50. The contents of the kebab were barely enough to fill the skewer (as you can see from the picture). Both the chicken and vegetables tasted burnt. The bread was charred and bitter in parts. I would like to add that I am a big fan of charcoal barbequing and I appreciate open flame flavours, but this was just burnt. The presentation was also disappointing. The kebab fell to pieces as soon as the fries were moved, and part of the salad had already fallen into the pot of chilli jam. Were this a £10 family pub affair these things wouldn't bother me, but when I pay a premium I expect some care to be taken. The fries were quite nice, as was "Mr Vikki's" chilli jam, but overall it was poor for the price.

We have a great experience in the hotel with nich room and facilities in hotel. However, when we ordered a Chateaubriand steak (79 pounds) , which. is very dissatisfied and ruined our experience in restaurant. We have ordered a medium cooked steak, and it comes with a nearly well done state (see attached photo) with no much juice from the steak. This is quite far away from our expected as the steak is quite expensive in menu by comparing with other steak and it is expected the steak should cook well with grill. Strongly not recommended to spend a lot in food.

Always good we've been visiting for over 15 years now , staff lovely steaks cooked on the open wood fired grill are to die for, chicken kebabs are nearly as good. Not the cheapest, but atmosphere is lovely , not at all stuffy like some hotels, restaurant staff are relaxed but very efficient and always take time to chat. We found the breakfast service just as good, if you like a herty cooked breakfast you'll not leave hungry or disappointed.
