It’s not often I find the time to complete a review online but after many years of great food and memories I felt it was way overdue to post a review for burro. Visiting regularly as a family and with friends we have eaten here countless times, lunch with friends, special dinners with family and friends, business meetings and so on, along with the celebrations we all enjoyed earlier this year when our son Enzo was christened when the team completey decorated the marquee outside and proved food and refreshments for everyone and made the day so special. No matter the occasion the quality of food and high level of service does not deviate from perfect. The lively atmosphere of the building does justice to the passion of the team who genuinely love what they do and truly care about the culinary delights they produce. If you want a silent boring meal without the Sardinian passion then go elsewhere. The menu changes every few months and always adds something new and exciting but always stays true to traditional dishes with some popular favourites included but does not fall in line with typical “Italian chain” restaurants. This is real food, cooked with love by talented authentic chefs. I could recite the entire menu but you would be reading this review all night. In short if you want real food cooked and served by knowledgeable people with skill and passion then visit burro. Over the past few years they have become very popular so even if you think of dropping in for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon I would recommend calling them to book as they seem to be booked up day and night latley which again is testament to what they are doing. I know people who drive an hour to call in for dinner which again speaks volumes in itself. See you all soon. Grazie mille, Ben, Emma,...

I really don't understand where all the rave reviews come from after our experience on Saturday night, this is probably one of the worst meals I can remember at an Italian restaurant. My sons pizza came out with a cooked fly on it, it was taken straight back of course but we all know what happens in kitchens, the offending articles are usually taken off and the same food comes back out a few minutes later, no thanks he was put off and ended up sharing a bowl of dry pasta with four small chunks of beef in it and barely any sauce, his sister was grateful he helped polish that bowl of food off ! As for the signature dish of Gnocchi with langoustine it was a bowl of gnocchi and two whole langoustine on top, when you try and remove the tiny morsel of meat form the shell you end up with the equivalent of one small prawn, so basically £16 for a bowl of potato/pasta balls. My wife ravioli wasn't much better and she gave it a three out of ten at best, overall the food was terrible and the service was slow and at times non existent, the waitress walked past and looked at the empty glasses numerous times and never asked once if we wanted any more drinks, yes it was busy but at a good restaurant when staff see empty drinks they usually ask if anyone wants another drink rather than customers having to shout some one over. There are much better Italian restaurants in Selby. We cut the evening short skipped the last course and further drinks to go...

Beautiful Italian restaurant in the quiet village of Riccall. Based in an old windmill the lighting and unusual shape of the building make for a unique experience. We were sat inside the old round mill with its slanting walls. The food was fantastic.

As close to the authentic Italian experience as you can get in England. I had spinach and ricotta ravioli that came out in large servings and my wife had the vegetarian pizza which I stole a slice of. The pizza was cooked perfectly in the Napolitan way. Thin chewy base with the crisp bubbled crust. I had olives and bread for starters. The bread came with an olive tapenade but I wanted oil and vinegar which the staff were happy to provide free of charge. The desert menu was full of traditional Italian desserts. I had the no flour chocolate cake which was stodgy but rich and delicious. My wife had a single scoop of pistachio ice cream.

The staff were excellent, very attentive and were keeping the Covid rules enforced. So much so when a woman asked if she was ok without a mask as shed left it in the car they insisted she go get it. Value was decent with a 3 course meal with 1 alcoholic drink coming...

Visited in March 2024 The Good A friendly welcome greeted us at this converted windmill. Set in stunning countryside in a beautiful part of the East Riding, this restaurant is authentically top-tier Italian. The menu is extensive, and the dishes are expertly prepared using fresh ingredients. Service was attentive yet not intrusive, and at all times friendly. I'd be equally happy taking the family with children for an early quick dinner, or whiling away the later hours over a bottle of Limoncello with friends. The Bad There's nothing bad here. The remote location adds to the atmosphere and is worth the trip. If drinking is an essential part of dinner for you, then someone will need to drive. Top Tip The Prawns and Monkfish Tagliolini gives a real taste of the sea. You could be standing on the quay in Savona.

My family and I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the first time, tucked away in the beautiful town of Selby/ Ricall. As soon as we got there, we were wowed by the authentic Italian setting and how it was buzzing. Please book in advance as this restaurant is unsurprisingly very popular. We started with the Scallops Pecorino on a bed of spinach, warm homemade Focaccia with pesto and crispy duck salad. This was absolutely delicious and went down well with the kids. For mains, the kids had spaghetti bolognese and pepperoni pizza while the adults went for Lobster Tagliolini and homemade Ravioli. Don’t forget to try their homemade ice cream and Tiramisu. Top marks - We are definitely going back and have already booked their tasting menu for later this month, I cannot wait. Burro is such a find.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Burro, and it was truly an amazing experience. From the moment I stepped in, the elegant ambiance set the stage for an evening of culinary delight! For the main course, I opted for the Braised Beef Gnocchetti, delicious slow cooked beef which surpassed all expectations. The attentive and knowledgeable staff added to the overall experience. They were adept at suggesting menu recommendations and offered insightful descriptions of each dish, enhancing the dining adventure. Dessert was a grand finale of indulgence. The chocolate fondant, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, was a decadent conclusion to an already impressive meal. This establishment delivered a delicious and memorable experience and I will certainly be returning.
