Pickled @ Riccall — Restaurant in Great Britain

Walked passed this place a thousand times, called in a couple of times before it added the coffee shop. I took my daughter and 2 of my grandchildren today for a coffee and cake, what a nice surprise I had. The young girl who served us was an absolute delight, full of energy and joy, a lovely young lady. The coffee, a cappuccino was excellent as was the toasted teacake with jam and the cupcake. My daughter had engaged herself into conversation with the owner, again a really nice lady, she was interested in my daughters story, who has just moved into Riccall last week, and again she couldn't do enough for us. I was having my car fixed in the area and as it was going to be some time The cafe was recommended by the garage. The staff were very friendly and attentive but the food was very sub par. The sausage was barely hot the bacon was definitely not fresh, so as their first customer I can only surmise it was from the day before. The eggs were hard and the potato rostie was black on one side and grey and slimy on the other. I did eat most of the food apart from the potato thingy but only because I was very hungry. I did tell the waitress about the food out of curtesy and left a tip for their efforts but the food...

Another place that does not use it's advertised hours. The kitchen closed earlier than the premises. All we ever want is to go to a food place and be able to buy and eat food in its advertised hours. Please state in your website if we have to go half an hour or whatever time earlier to be able to eat. It's very hard when you go in and then to add insult to injury they serve their friends with some nice smelling hot food after saying no to you. Some of us drove over 40 miles to go there with friends and hungry toddlers. What a mistake. The good thing was the staff...
