Cafe Smile — Restaurant in England

Slow service that was very lacking, not very busy but you'd have thought they were. The current system of hands up when ready to order made me feel like I'd gone back to school and was especially uncomfortable sitting like that for 5mins (although me and my friend just had to see the funny side) Uncompromising menu my friend wanted to be a little awkward and switch out beans for extra mushroom, or something along those lines, which most places can accommodate without issue, but they couldn't manage that. It took a while to get the order correct when putting it through the till but we got there in the end. The food was actually pretty good and not really greasy like a lot of places (we had breakfast). Price was maybe slightly steep when you look at the service and the type of place it is...

Pop in with my mum regularly. Today, mum had scampi and chips, and I had ham salad. Both were excellent. My salad had the biggest, most tasty slices of ham, two of them, and they weren't sliced too thinly either. Slice was as big as the plate!! Best salad I've had in a long time. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her scampi too. Less than £12 with tea, so excellent value for money too. Staff are friendly and approachable, and nothing is too much bother. Keep up the good...

Arrived at quarter to 12 to find breakfast was over. Bit of an annoyed face on the woman at the till, no problem, we are here food food not a smile I guess. Ordered an all day breakfast and a Mocha, half an hour later and food finally arrived, was cold, undercooked bacon and pale sausages and a barely cooked hash brown. Could hear plenty of women having a chat and a laugh put the back in the kitchen though... I guess even mixing the drink was...
