Before ordering I asked the question of what the mixed platter consists of, I was told onion bargies, Samosas and other meats. For £11.50 that's what I would expect so I ordered this with 2 other curries... when we got the food home I was disgusted to find that the mixed platter was in a small takeaway container, certainly not enough for 2 people. The curries were also horrible, one was very bland and the other just wasn't what it said on the tin (so to speak) .... a big waste of £30, the only thing it was good for was the bin, which is where it went. It felt like there just wanting to close up and gave us the scrapes.... NEVER to return

My recommendation, ask for the naga curry with duck... so tasty! Very helpful and when I wanted it hotter they brought me a pot of chilli paste to hot it up. Waitress was excellent and got our order right first time, although a naan was missed off, they went and got one and didn’t charge us for it. Overall great, certainly be coming again.

After moving to Scunthorpe 18mnths ago, I desperately wanted nay needed Indian food. After reading many reviews from many restaurants, and eventually biting the bullet , we decided on the clay oven. So we rang and placed our order. Set meal for 2 at a very very reasonable price. So being told a 40 minute wait before delivery, had us waiting in anticipation. And exactly as told the food arrived 40 minute later. Speaking to the lovely delivery man who I had explain my fear of ordering food (Indian being my favourite) he explained many of the reasons of why I would enjoy. And the restaurants many appraisals. So with excitement, I started opening the many many containers of piping hot food. It seemed never ending. And remember it was very very reasonably priced . After the first mouthful of what I can only call exquisite lamb that fell apart and melted in your mouth, I new the clay oven would in future be the only Indian restaurant in my phone contact list. This was without exception a fantastic meal form start to finish. There was food left over not from wanting to eat but I physically could not gorge on any more. (Believe me I tried). And last but not least. I am the most picky food person.family and friends know I'm a nightmare where food is concerned as even down to colours and shapes can put me off eating. So If I could give 10 out of 10 I would. But once a very clever delivery driver said to me we don't bother about the reviews as ordering again is review enough. WELL DONE AND THANK YOU...

First time visit and wasn't that impressed although the staff seemed polite, as the evening started to get busy they seemed to favour the regulars. Ordered drinks once we were sat at a table then the meal. It seemed an age before the starter came out and such a gap for the main meal. Boredom set in by now a nd i was starting to look around for something to do. The main meal arrived but the waiter had to go back for the naan breads not sure why as there was plenty of room on his trolley to cater for them, either forgot or weren't quite ready. Didn't bother with a sweet as couldn't be bothered to wait for that too. So we went to pay the same gent served our food now at the bar wasn't that pleasant didn't seem to have an idea what he was doing and fumbled along grunted a few words. I paid the bill bug will not return, unfortunate really because it looked...

We have been to The Clay Oven many times over the years and never have written a review. Always a quality meal with great customer service, the waiters are always up for a bit of banter and will explain any dishes you are not sure of. Last night I had the chicken shashlik starter which was presented on a skewer, looked awesome and tasted even better, my wife had chicken pakoras which were 4 pieces of chicken tikka cooked in batter she said it was lovely. For the main course I had a chicken jalfrezi, tender chicken, tasty sauce and a bit of a kick, onion rice, and a garlic naan bread, while the wife had a creamy chicken tikka kuzurhi with boiled rice. Finished off with an ice cream. 5...
