I'm a regular customer who has been visiting weekly for the past year with a group of children and parents, and we've always had a positive experience—until today. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find the facilities in poor condition. There was a soiled nappy in the toilets that had been there since Wednesday (it's now Friday), blood on the toilet surfaces, and a general lack of cleanliness throughout. When I sat down for my meal, I was served a substandard coffee that was both poorly made and incorrectly presented (served in the wrong cup and undersized, had a lovely one Wednesday in the right cup). Shortly after, a female staff member approached me regarding the soft play area. While I understood that children weren't permitted to use it, her manner was abrupt and unwelcoming, demonstrating a complete lack of customer service skills. The service issues continued when a young staff member was unable to explain what was included in the children's meal. The overall experience was so poor that I left without eating the food we had ordered. After a year of loyal patronage, I'm extremely disappointed and will not be returning. I really liked the main guy there, he’s great with our kids. But the girls he had working today...

After living in the area for more than 3 years, we finally gave the cod and waffle a visit.

It’s nice, spacious and bright inside with windows the whole length of the building. Service was great. We were seated straight away and able to order drinks. Their coffee was very nice.

Moving to mains, their food lives up to the hype. They serve authentic tasting fish and chips in here which I didn’t expect. The cod looks freshly battered and tastes the part too. Gorgeous with their homemade tartare sauce. The chips are so morish as well. Same ones you’d get from a chippy. My stack burger however was the star of the show. Had it with some thick cut smoked bacon, burger sauce, pickles and cheese. Very messy but so succulent and flavourful.

I was amazed that we have this food on our doorstep. They also have a selection of imported soft drinks and candies from the US/china which is an...

Far too long a wait to order and receive drinks and meals. Our meals were eventually brought out and mine was stone cold. I called the waitress over who admittedly apologised and took it back to the kitchen for it to be replaced. Unfortunately everyone else had long since finished eating before mine appeared again, so what was meant to be a nice family meal, was not. Then to be bought the bill over at full price was a bit of an insult. Eventually we were given a discount. It wasn't just us who appeared to be having issues either. The place seemed very poorly run and the excuse of the takeaway service being busy shouldn't have been an excuse considering we had booked a table. Also both of us who had milkshakes had bad stomach aches after leaving. It's disappointing considering we visited here last summer and had a great meal and I was pleased with the amount of gluten free...

First time I've been here. Good selection and a simple to choose from menu. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and the portion sizes. Gluten free batter available upon request however a slight lack of wholemeal bread. Staff appeared a bit confused over the availability. Service was fast enough and staff were polite and helpful. My only gripe is others in my party had simple waffle and ice cream for pudding (large waffle and two scoops of vanilla ice cream), I opted for the chopped fruit and coulee option with ice cream however only received one scoop despite paying two quid more. This subjective niggle should not however impact on your choice of going there. Do it, do it now.

We arrived on Saturday morning @ 10:30. There was only one server but it was getting busy, 2nd server didn’t start until 11, so there was a little wait. It was well worth it! Both servers were lovely, food was really nicely presented and tasted good! I had the Brunch, poached eggs cooked perfectly. I let the server know I had dairy and wheat intolerance. I never had to say it again. Food came out hot and in good time once order was taken. It’s been 16 years since I’ve had a waffle! I was cheeky and finished mine with some maple syrup. Just so yummy and no stomach ache afterwards. Success!
