Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Went here with my wife yesterday for lunch whilst out completing errands. My wife asked for the pigs in blankets panini from the Christmas range. I inadvertently selected the Vegan Pigs in Blankets version due to the poor labelling on the packaging.

This product should really be renamed as vegan misery and tears due to the absolutely disgusting nature of the filling, flacid and inciped looking " not bacon" and a sickly looking tube of "not sausage"

It was truly traumatising

However whilst my wife was exclaiming her dismay at the horror with the words "Oh my good how do people eat this !!". Unbeknown to us a staff member (Donna, who I believe is the area manager) was sat at the adjacent table.She overheard my wife's distress and immediately offered to replace the product for an alternative and then took away the offending not pigs in not blankets panini a swapping it for a real pigs in blanket alternative. Update winter 2025: hopefully just a once off, but the staff were pretty terse and not helpful at all with redeeming rewards from the Costa app, turns out I could have got two free drinks! Won't mark down the service number because I hope it's just a one off 🙃

2023 Standard Costa with fairly friendly employees but it is SO loud! Even when it's not busy it seems like the room is packed because of the noise; I think they could do something with noise insulation from the roof, because from my point of view it's a real turn off. I would choose to go elsewhere, even out of my way, to avoid having to have a shouted conversation. It's also a very mixed clientele - there are quite a lot of families and small children so this might be a factor. There are outdoor seats, but only usable on rare days due to UK weather... Appalled by customer service! I have been going to and ordering from this costa for a good few years now. I ordered through just eat and 1 of my chocolate twists from my order was missing. When I called Costa I was informed that ‘they had run out and that I should contact just eat for a refund as because they had run out I couldn’t get another one anyway even if there was someone available to collect for me.’ To be quite frankly fobbed off by someone from costa that way is pretty appalling. Not only way I not contacted over the fact that when I ordered they were out of the items I did order but to just tell me to basically go away as a paying customer that is not how you treat us if you want to keep us!
