We came across Crobar which is situated down a small side street off of the main street in Barnard Castle while looking for some place to eat and we were so glad we did. This place is an absolute find with a small indoor area but with a very lovely outdoor seating area with booths which have heaters and this is where we sat. The food was delicious and the staff were very welcoming and friendly ,the owner even came and sat with us a for a little chat which was lovely, highly recommend if you are in Barnard Castle.

An advert on the main street of Barnard Castle led us to this gem of a bar hidden down a snicket (ginnel, etc.) It's a quiet but atmospheric bar serving drinks to be enjoyed indoors or outside. Mulled wine was today's choice at the special price of £10 for two.! Result. Shame we had to drive later or other drinks may have been enjoyed. We didn't eat, so I can not comment on the food.

Having walked around Barnard Castle looking for a decent pint of cider we came across this little gem in the middle of town which sold a really good pint of Sharps cider. The bar staff were friendly and the owners made you feel welcome and like a friend. Nice little sun trap and dog friendly. Well done to the crobar for daring to be different.

This is a great permanent 'pop up bar' that is a quirky little hidden gem. The bar is in a small shack type building with some tables and chairs. Outside under cover are several booths along with 2 patio area that are a sun trap, assuming it is sunny in Barnard Castle!! Access is via a alleyway signposted off the main street with music guiding you in to the bar, great music was played when there Prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend that you visit this place and experience the great atmosphere. I understand there are occasionally food vendors that serve snacks but there is no fixed...

Highlight of our day finding the Crobar. We visited Barnard Castle with family and friends and the staff immediately offered to move two tables together for us to all be seated together. The staff were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and we felt well catered for. The food was delicious and the presentation was lovely, we all enjoyed sharing and tasting the variety of cuisine and the atmosphere was so nice, we enjoyed having a lovely shaded area as we visited during a heatwave, so the shade was much appreciated. Highly recommend the Crobar and we will definitely be...
