We have been meaning to get round to writing a review. We had heard good things about this play cafe but didnāt have a great experience.
We booked a āteddy bear picnic themedā slot for two 6-9 month olds which was to include food for the children, stories and a teddy bear hunt.
On arrival there were no instructions or anything so we just sat down at a table.
After a bit of time we went to play. Unfortunately, there were far too many people and children in the play area, it made it feel unsafe. In other play cafes we have been to there is a designated space for younger babies. Instead there were 4 year olds throwing balls that we had to dodge. There was a tiny sensory tent but nothing of note really.
We then went to ask about the food included in the ticket and they explained we were meant to order at the beginning. The children ended up having no food and we couldnāt get anything either as they had turned the equipment off.
It was 15 minutes until the session ended and we still had no teddy bear hunt or stories. The children then needed their nappies changing before leaving and in that time we missed the 10 minutes teddy bear themed activity so cannot comment on that.
The toilets werenāt that clean and the floors turned my childās socks black.
We were just very disappointed with the experience. It has potential...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe absolutely love CUB! My daughter and I have been countless times since their opening! Such a warm and welcoming space with a fantastic baby and toddler area! You can see that a lot of time and effort has been put into CUB to ensure not only that children and babies have a lovely time playing, but also that they are learning while there!
The outdoor area is my daughterās favourite place to play! Having an enclosed area with lots of engaging toys is fantastic for little minds! My daughter especially loves the diggers and water wall! In the autumn we very much enjoyed learning how to safely come down the slide when it was wet and practiced not slipping.
Our favourite inside area is the home corner! While there my little one was able to learn how to safely chop the play food and loves to play with the tea sets!
On the topic of tea, the food and drinks at CUB are top notch! Delicious and very fairly priced! Lots of snacks bits for little tummies and lots of tasty sandwiches for adults. Donāt even get me started on their fabulous selection of guest cakes/cookies/bakes! Theyāre on another level!
CUB gets a 10/10 from us! Itās often our go to day out place when little one needs a play day and mummy needs an hour to herself! Well done CUB. Weāll be back to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Club Play Cafe in Blyth with my partner and 2 year old son. It was my first time visiting but my partner and son have been a few times before. We live in North Tyneside but the journey up to Blyth is absolutely worth it for this venue. We arrived to plenty of parking availability which I was pleasantly surprised about for a Saturday at peak time, especially after seeing the cafe was filled with patrons. The cafe has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff. The play area is extremely clean, spacious and filled with a wide range of fun activities and toys for the children to play with including a home area, transport area, sensory toys and climbing frames. There is enough room for both adults and children to actively play together. My son loved the kitchen activities and dressing up in the hats. The session ended with the staff sitting down together and singing songs with instruments and visual queues for the children which all the children enjoyed. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the food, the menu offers a variety of light bites. The portion sizes were good and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this play cafe to anyone in the North East looking for a excited play space for...
