I've not been to Daruchini for a while but I remembered it being a good curry house. Well, this time we thought the food was a bit hit and miss... The Naan is excellent. However, we had a Saag Lamb which was fine (but not amazing) and a Butter Chicken that resembles more a Chicken Korma as it was sweet with coconut milk. Disappointing, really. 2x mains, 1x Naan, 1x pilau rice, a couple of poppadoms and 2x juices (obviously from a carton) and it cost us £52. It feels way too expensive for what it is. The service was good, with the main waiter being very attentive. But the food is far from "the best Indian in the area / ever" as described by some reviews here.

Should have gone to Kohinoor I ordered during lockdown and very disappointed. No taste in the food and I have been ordering curries for years as this was by far the worst in the area. The naan was soggy, the chicken in the dansak was undercooked, the lamb masala curry was tasteless and looked like it was in a tomato paste. But worst all of that was the chicken pakora which they sent grilled chicken instead. If they didn't have pakora, they should have just said as pakora is always cooked with onion and is deep fried. Very shocking and will not be ordering again.

Came in past 9pm and they were more than happy to serve us, they even made fresh fresh naan and onion baajis because they had ran out. We were the only people in the restaurant and it would’ve been all too easy (and understandable) to not make anymore food since they were closing soon. The service was great, the all you can eat was exactly what was needed and the price was excellent. Will definitely come back.

I used this restaurant many times when in its old location and it used to be good, albeit portions never massive. They moved towards Newbold college a while back and I thought I would give it a go as my usual, the Amir hasn’t been great of late. I went with a friend for a sit in meal midweek, Wed 13th Nov 2018, we were 2 of 10 persons in the restaurant. The ambience is ok, the initial service to deliver poppadums, take drink orders was good, ditto the food order. The starters took a very long time to arrive, and when they did the portion size was pitiful and the flavour wasn’t great, I had the Viceroy Cocktails and the lamb tasted like washing up liquid crossed with lemon, very unusual, there were two chunks of the lamb, and two of the chicken, literally the size of a dice each, and the kebab itself was about the size of a baby carrot and all for Ā£4.95! The mains were available soon after, and again the portions absolutely pitiful and the taste not great. The pilau rice looked like it had been reheated and the garlic breads tasted of nothing. The Chicken Tikka Chilli was hot, but not flavoursome at all, same could be said of my friends Sag Chicken. So the bill for this came to Ā£64.40, not cheap, but that included 3 beers, so without the beers still almost Ā£50. The service was indifferent and I found the whole experience unsatisfactory. This restaurant used to be seen as the one for an Indian meal out in the Bracknell area, but frankly with so many other options available in the town, I think this place needs to up its game or it will loose out. I...

Phoned the other night at 9.30 pm to book a table for two, was told "we shut at 11pm", bit odd as it was only 9.30pm but we went along anyway. We arrived at the restaurant to a welcomce by one of the staff of "Alright ?", we had to seat ourselves as they obviously did not seem interested in taking us to a table. Once we had ordered, the food was rushed out with cold plates, cold dishes, cold rice and no hot plate trays. We complained to manager who heated up the rice for us but that's as far as it went. We finished our meal and we had barely just put our cutlery down when the waiter came over cleared the table, gave us cold hand wipes and blew out the candle as if to say it's time to leave, bearing in mind it was still only 10.30pm at this time and the restaurants website clearly states it is open until 11pm. We still had some wine left in our glass which we would have liked to finish so again we complained to the manager who said "he would have a word" which I guess he did because the waiter he spoke with promptly let of a loud burp which we found disgusting. Won't be spending anymore money in there which is quite a shame as we actually used to enjoy eating there. Advice to other customers is KEEP AWAY. Advice to owner is sack the lot of them and start...

I was enjoying a lovely meal here recently for an Elvis evening, until the end of my night. I was in a group of 7 and left just before the others. The meal and Elvis cost £26.95 and paid for small coke on top. A friend of mine had already paid for a large glass of wine for myself and another friend upon arrival and for some reason, this was added to my part of the bill at the end along with, a service charge. I questioned them about this and the three gentlemen standing at the bar/till area didn't look impressed and was told I that is how much it cost and need to pay it. My night, a curry for one, cost me £37.90! When my friends left, and bearing in mind others had more alcholic drinks than myself, they didn't pay no where near this much and with no service charge. Very...
