Desi Karahi — Restaurant in England

First time visited Desi Karahi and I’m not from the local area. Food was ok but the overall experience was horrible and would not come here again. It’s like customer service doesn’t exist.

Very disappointed that when we sat down the plates were dirty and dusty we had to ask the staff twice to bring clean plates which should never be the case in any food place.

Then whilst sat down there was water bottles already on the table , which is misleading and the staff prompted have some water (they then charge you at the end) which I can’t understand why have or give customer things they haven’t asked for , or at least make it known it is charged and most importantly not ordered

We then ordered a Tarawa for 2 , large donner meat and chips, aswell as 2 zinger burgers.

The Tawaa was presented nicely but putting it on a dirty pan like instrument was abit off putting. The food was ok but the portions are on the small side and are NOT generous at all. The zinger burgers were just dry and tiny , donner meat was okish but again for large portion we got portion chips on a plate with little bits of strands of donner crammed on a small plate. Then the main thing is they bought out salad and pickle trays when we didn’t ask for them , only to realise that we were charged for this salad . I bought this to the attention of the staff member and he just didn’t look bothered.

I have since rang & spoken to this business and complained about the above and he acknowledged that he will take into account my concerns. Seemed friendly enough on the phone but they have definitely lost out on custom from us and would never Reccomend this place.

Overall I would not recommend this place as the price doesn’t reflect the quality & service you get.

Good customer service goes along way which these places don’t understand but instead they wrip you off and then aren’t bothered. it was my 1st meal after 4 days . I went to Peterborough from Corby for food . Bought chicken biryani and drove back to Corby as soon I opened it I literally cried as it was my 1st meal in 4 days where I had temperature above 39.4 constantly. Biryani looked like poo still tried to take a bite and omg it seems like someone is learning how to make rice and they did their experiment on me .extra salt in it and feels like someone added spices at very last minute tasted raw . I would request them to earn from legal ways not robbing ppl like this . Taste can go up and down is acceptable but come on this much crap you are selling and you don’t feel shame ? I can’t drive back there to tell them to taste it so food went in bin can b seen in pictures . .one word for them would be Robbers as if you can’t give food what someone is paying you then close it...

Honestly this was such an extravagant restaurant. I could have not wished it to be any better. The server was just absolutely amazing when he elegantly placed the food on our table. The mouth watering chops filled my stomach before I even tasted them. This therefore shows the immense abilities “Desi” has to show the world. We ordered our food which was a serving for 11 people and about 20 seconds later the food was served. This blew my mind. I questioned myself. How can this even be possible? But Desi showed us the impossible. Overall, the scrumptious chicken wings and the tender lamb Karhai was incredibly soothing to even watch as the server delivered it right to us and I can 1000% say that this is a restaurant every single person should go ahead and try out. You will not regret this...
