Fantastic little cafe at the bottom of Portland. No car park however there is free on street parking. I have been 4 times and there has always been a space. The cafe is set up as an adventure center but is really welcoming and I love the benches. There is a free child's play area which is great for little kids. The week day special are very good value for money. We had the cream tea for two which included 4 scone of your choice 2 pots of cream 2 pots of jam lots of butter and 2 mugs of Dorset tea (not your cheap Tesco own brand). The staff are all very friendly (especially the girl with the green hair sorry can't remember your name). We have had breakfast there which was fantastic. We have also had the sandwichs, burgers and special lasagna all home made and very tasty. Would 100% recommend and definitely have to try the cake.

Both my daughter and I are plant based (I’m also gluten and soya intolerant) ,we often struggle to find places to eat together. The Dorset adventure cafe had a variety of options available for vegan and gluten free choices. I also had a blueberry and lemon vg + gf cake to take home and oh my goodness it was so delicious! I’ve missed eating cake so much,it was wonderful! The staff were super friendly and accommodating . My teenage son has autism and they went out of their way to make him feel comfortable.

Not your typical greasy spoon care, although you can get a very decent English breakfast here. The menu covers all the main cafe food types including sandwiches and panini's, healthy salads and not so healthy cakes! Hot drinks come in nice sized cups and there is a ton of useful information on what to do where and when. There is also a play area for the kids and good, clean toilets.

We dropped in last week for coffee and cake after a visit to the museum over the road. The cakes were super tasty, as was the coffee. While we were waiting, we had a look at the menu and the breakfast menu in particular looked pretty decent. That and the fact that the staff were so friendly that we thought we'd come back for brekky before our journey home. I'm glad we did as it was amazing! Generous serving size, beautiful ingredients and excellent value for money. The coffee is also top notch!

They also have a well equipped toddler play area which the two toddlers in our group loved (almost more than their brekky!).

I would strongly recommend visiting these guys if you are around Portland...

Decent, a well needed bacon sandwich and a coffee. Obviously popular with outdoor types so can get full of hikers and watersports visitors, directy opposite a D-day museum so there payable parking nearby. I'm a semi regular visitor when I'm in the area, and have tried most of their food, ranging from a bacon sandwich, where they cooked my bacon as I liked upon request, and the large full english kept me going right through till early evening. Why only 4 stars, fix the front door! Makes me jump everytime, if you...
