Drake's Fish & Chips Restaurant And Take Away — Restaurant in England

My rating is based out of the total amount of times been there (5) whilst only 2 times being consistent.

First 2 times buying 2 large fish & 1 large chips were great, easy, fast and reliable. The last 3 times being served there with the same order of 1 large chips and 2 large fish the staff members were childish (unprofessional & being silly with one another) / forgot my order so I was left waiting long than necessary / my order was sized incorrectly (but the 1 time I spotted it, it was corrected - ordered large chips, gave small, it was amended).

Tonight I ordered my usual 2 large fish and chips & left my partner to deal with the transaction, according to her they were exactly as described as above, when we returned home I found out that not only had she been charged the full amount for 2 large fish & 1 chips but we received an actual handful of chips...I called up to notify them but the female staff member on the phone was clearly so uninterested in what I had to say about the order that she asked if I was "Still talking" & "there's nothing I can do about it, bye"...So customers of this local chippy all the advice I can give you is to be aware of your order(s) make sure you have been charged for what you want and always keep an eye out.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The order was placed on JustEat for collection at a specific time. I arrived at the collection time and was ignored for at least 5 minutes while 1 of the staff was too busy chatting up a person who never ordered any food and left after 15 minutes (still without ordering). The same guy eventually decided to ask if I wanted any fish so he could start cooking, to which I responded no, I'm here for a collection. He then went back to chatting to this person. After a further 5 minute wait a delivery driver came in and this guy served him right away and then went back to doing nothing. After nearly 15 minutes of waiting they eventually decided to 'prep my order' to which they then established mine was the one which had been sat in a cold draught from the door the entire time in a bag. Upon getting home all the food was cold, it had gone hard and rubbery, and closer to stale cardboard than fish and chips. Won't be returning.

What a dreadful experience having had a long drive for business and over night stay we ordered an over priced scampi chips banana fritters with cream for 2. It states clearly that their should be 8 hand breaded scampi per portion to which we got 12 clearly frozen bought in, and not any different to the bog standard scampi the total cost was £32.71 no cream for the fritter to which it was charged and no chips. The scampi was under cooked and uneditable. Having called the restaurant to explain and try and get an alternative or at least the chips we were left with no answers no apology and no alternative they couldn’t have cared less! Now infuriated that we have to do battle with Deliveroo to try and get our money back. What a rip off a bit of customer care would have avoided this bad review! We then had to leave the hotel and stumbled over Oliver’s fish and chip shop and they couldn’t have been nicer what a delicious fresh fish on chips thank you boys you are certainly the best in town!...
