Reading other reviews they all award 5 stars and I can't disagree. I visited this cafe just a couple of weeks ago for the first time in years and it was a planned visit as the midway point on a 100 mile bike ride. We did have the option of stopping three other locations should the weather be against us however it was well worth battling the headwind to reach our intended lunch stop. As the name suggests this is an old schoolhouse, a simple functional building which may look a little dated in some aspects but it's clean and well furnished. From a reasonably varied menu my friend and I chose full English breakfast which was freshly cooked to order (you could see straight into the kitchen from our table). There is a small free car park for the tea rooms and a pleasant village green opposite (no dog allowed on the green). There is also a nice walk along the river to Keilder Dam and the village hall offers free WiFi for those who can’t survive without a...

Toasted teacake came with three butters - as they always should. Enjoyed breakfast so much stayed for extra coffee and carrot cake. Forget the cafés at Kielder Water and come...
