🙏🐟🦀🦞A huge thank you to everyone for attending the meet the fishmonger event at Fantails restaurant last night. It was an evening of excellent food (the best fish north of lands end), amazing hospitality from Kenny & the team, world-class fish chat, banter and outstanding heckling. 🤣 Not mentioning any names😅. The Codfather was in his element 4 pints in and ready for action & entertainment.🦐🔥😜(although he didn't know the story behind the name of Monkfish) There are a few origin stories, one being that Monks used to head down to the boats/markets and ask for unused fish to eat or take. Hence the name Monkfish. 😊 We will, be looking to do something very similar again in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled. Bells Fishmongers get the quality, service & evenings of entertainment...

Really good food, I’m not a complainer normally. I just thought we were a bit rushed through, a 3 course in 1 hour, we literally just finished one course and were rushed into the next with no breathing space between. After our desserts my husband had literally just put the last part of his dessert into his mouth and the staff came up and took the plates away as if they were watching us on camera. We were asked if we had finished our desserts and my husband said with a mouthful ‘just about’ they may as well have ripped the spoon out of his hand. We felt rushed and as it was also my birthday….our very rare night out was cut very short, not what I was expecting. So we left quite...

Visited this lovely eatery last night, whilst staying near, The Menu is varied, food is excellent, and level of service from the very polite and attentive staff is second to none. They have a great choice of fresh local produce, which is cooked to perfection and presented equally as well. Upon our return to the local hotel we are staying at, I personally recommended fantails to another couple who asked had we eaten their. Whenever I'm back in the area I will 💯% go back for yet another excellent meal. It just ticks every box for atmosphere, food,...

A nice pub with a good selection of food (including vegetarian options) and drinks (check out their cocktail menu!). The staff were friendly and our orders arrived promptly. The pub has a lively, pleasant atmosphere, but we found the food a little underwhelming for the price. The cheese soufflée starter was very heavy (more like a pie) and the main had a nicely cooked fish but absolutely tasteless sides and a runny sauce that overpowered the entire dish. Would definitely come back for drinks and stacks, but probably go elsewhere for a nicer dinner.

Into Fantails Restaurant and Bar for dinner which is located in Wetheral village. The setting, atmosphere and layout with wood burning fire for eating and enjoying pint is fantastic. The staff are great and the food was delicious. It’s always good experience to visit old and quaint 17th century buildings with its interior which provides cosy and welcoming feeling for strangers especially when its cold dark night.
