Edit 31/01/23. I was invited back by the owner to give Fourways another try. I've left my original review down below for reference. On this second visit, standards were super high. Not only was the food delicious, the quantity was substantial and it was cooked quickly. Service this time was with a smile and a chat too, which added a friendly personal touch. We were welcomed in and weren't rushed. A really nice experience and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Actions have clearly been taken to improve the experience and these haven't gone unnoticed.
While not directly related to Fourways, the conveniences on site have been revamped recently too and are tenfold better than they were previously.
Wish I could give 5 stars. I have visited a number of times and never had an issue. Always good food and served pretty fast. Today we visited and found a lady on the till who made us feel like our patronage was an inconvenience. We were told to sit on the bar stools next to the door because we were âonlyâ having tea and a biscuit. We had to remind her that we asked for a flap jack too since she claims she never heard it but did hear the request for 2 teas immediately before it and the shortbread immediately afterwards. Cafe wasnât full by any stretch but the fella being served behind us was told in no uncertain terms that he would be asked to leave if the place filled up. Clearly, customer service was not prioritised or appreciated during this visit and it really has put a real downer on visiting again. The rest of the staff are great and always polite. Shame one of them spoils it for the rest. Tea was nice and the flapjack wasnât bad either. Would recommend to anyone as long as they donât have the bad luck to be served by...

The decor is nothing special, but as it's predominantly a bikers' café that's not what it's about. The tables are big enough and spaced out well enough to be comfortable with biker clobber on, but it can get a bit noisy when it's busy and, as it's popular, it does get busy, especially in biking season. There are some back issues of bike-related mags if you fancy a read during your visit, and there is some outside seating for when the sun puts in an appearance, but this is a bit tired and could use a refresh. Service is generally dependable, but can be variable and depends on who is on shift. We've always got what we ordered, but some of the staff have in the past been miserable or surly, which takes the edge off a generally...
Read moreNot the most friendly of cafes. Quite pricey for what you get served, and you only get served what they want to serve you.
Recently wanting to grab a bacon butty on the go and asking if they could do it with well done bacon was too much⊠I was told it comes as it is cooked! Whilst taken back a little, I asked if they could serve it well trimmed instead, only to be told they donât cut the rind off as there would be no bacon left on it !!! Wow. Maybe donât buy such poor quality meat then or readjust your prices which are already far higher than any other cafes in the local area !
Youâre a cafe, not a Michelin starred restaurant! And not a busy one at thatâŠ
Your inability to serve customers is really poor⊠let us know when itâs under new management and Iâll come back...
