Fratello's (Swindon) — Restaurant in England

I just walked out of this place feeling disgusted. I went with my wife and daughter for my wedding anniversary dinner as this place was recommended by someone. Firstly, disappointed with the welcome because the body language of the staff wasn't right. Secondly, we were asked sit next to the toilet and it stunk. We requested for another place and the waiter replied this is what was available and with hesitation we sat next to the toilet as we didn't want to spoil the evening before it started. Funnily there were other tables around us which was empty. The front part of the restaurant had around 4 tables and they were empty. I assume, the remaining tables were all in the cellar as I saw staff walking up and down and I heard lot of laughter and chatter, proper restaurant atmosphere which I wished for.

Now, ordered the starters and to our surprise the menu card disappeared, we had to request for the menu as we didn't order the main course. The orange juice served to my daughter was just overflowing. The plates provided for starters were very dirty and we got it replaced after asking for it.

Literally after starters and 2 glasses of wine we walked out. I did mention about the experience to the staff and the response was let me have a word with the manager and see what can be done, I was shocked with that attitude. I don't know how these guys work in a restaurant or run a restaurant like this.

Trust me it is not an ordinary place. While we sat there few European fellas walked in and asked for a table and they were simply asked to follow down to cellar. We arrived before the other guys but we were made to sit on our own next to the toilet.

Just one thing was very clear, based on that what I can say is, if you're a coloured person my kind advice would be to stay away from this place. There are really other good Italian places around Swindon, definitely not this one.

I wish management and staff change their attitude and remember they live in the UK...

Disgusting customer service. Never met with such an attitude. Delivered wrong pizza but didn’t even bother to apologise and that’s after they finally picked up the phone. Said kitchen already closed (that was 10mins prior to closing). Then said will resend but when I asked if they can skip goat cheese this time- basically accused me of lying about incorrect toppings on the pizza so i would get new pizza?? I have only requested not to put goat cheese this time as I knew they will remake the pizza anyway and that was first time i got it to try (took only one bite of the pizza they delivered to see how is it- didn’t really like it). I would have never called them if they didn’t mess it up at the first place . I don’t usually complain. It’s not first time they missed some of my topping and didn’t call before . But this time they missed 3 toppings and added onions which i didn’t want . Completely wrong. I used to order from them last few years and spent almost 2k for their food. Yesterday was a last time. Lost a customer. The way “lady” on the phone spoke to me was unacceptable. It was my birthday and spent last few weeks on the diet waiting for this pizza day to come just so i would end up upset.
